OS way to brighter whites?

Do you wash them in a separate white wash? I used to not bother separating whites and coloureds but after a while I noticed the whites were beginning to look a little grey, so I wash them separately and add in a scoop of oxygen bleach. I always wash at 40c too as I don't think things wash properly any colder than that.0

I did mine recently, hot washed them after a soak in napisan and put them on the line on a bright sunny day, came up sparkling white.0

I wear white shirts for work and I wash mine in regular detergent powder and a scoop of Napisan. Works a treat! I've got shirts I've been wearing for 6+ years that are still sparkling white0

My white shirts get two 95 degree washes.
The first wash is with a measure of Katie Elizabeth Laundry Gel (28 washes per bottle, from £land) and a scoop of Wizz Oxi, also from £land.
The second wash just uses a measure of the Laundry Gel.
They come out looking like new. :cool:0 -
I'd also recommend starching them maybe not every time you iron but fairly often. It keeps the fabric crisp and I find it also seems to help repel grubbiness. Xxx0

I've gone back to 40 degree washes for most things now. For 100% cotton it can be really hot.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Wonder if anyone has any OS tips on getting dull and slightly dingy looking white bed linen back to proper whiteness? I've tried a boil wash in the WM with Persil non-bio but didn't make a lot of difference. I remember my Mum used to put them to boil on top of the gas stove in a massive pail occasionally to 'bring them up' as I think the term was, but I don't think that's an option. All my linen is 100% cotton. Don't want to use anything that is harsh on sensitive skin.
Thanks in advance.
