I've already tried Vanish... though in liquid and not much of a help.

The shampoo idea sounds interesting! Definitely worth a try!

  • Invest in a little Vanish stain-stick if you can find one in the supermarket or hardware store, it's magic stuff. Worth every penny

I have white bedding and some of it is looking very tired after 6 years of ownership. Now I like my whites looking shiny and normally throw out anything that is no longer white but these cost me a fortune from Laura Ashley.

I don't like those stain devil things (they dont seem to work) so does anyone have any ideas to make the bedding all nice and shiny again please?

Ive had very good results with a few tablespoons of Napisan added to the detergent and a wash on the hottest temperature appropriate for the fabric-content. Drying in bright sunshine is an added bonus.

I think it may be the sun that has bleached one set a little "less" white! What is Napisan?

Its a steriliser for terry nappies. The sun will bleach your bedding if its 100% cotton, I use Biotex in my wash, I would use Napisan again if I remembered to look for it in the shops, I did use it when my two were in nappies, but I didn't have white bedding then.
