OH sabotage of batch cooking!

So, last night I spent all evening in the kitchen, watching old episodes of Black Books on 4oD and doing some batch cooking. I made a HUGE bolognaise and veg style sauce which I stuffed some peppers with, and a massive ratatouille (well, it looked massive at the beginning but of course cooked right down into two very nice and ample portions). It was still hot when I went to bed so I left it all out covered on the stove ready to freeze this morning.
Except my husband came home late from doing a gig (he had already had dinner, may I just say) and decided that the ratatouille looked so nice he'd just eat a huge portion of it. So now there's not even really enough for one portion. ARGGGHHHHH! Does anyone else have this problem? I did rail at him this morning and he apologised but I still feel miffed. The thing is we're trying to do a low carb diet on a budget and it's really quite challenging; there was plenty of cheese and cold meat and nuts he could have eaten but he just dived into my cooking.
I know it might seem petty but we both work full time, have a four-year-old son and life is quite full-on. I was just trying to get ahead as I always cook from scratch each night but sometimes the urge to get a takeaway is too massive. How do you train your OHs to behave??!

I know how irritating this is. It hasn't ever really happened before, but recently I cooked my last piece of high quality very large leg of lamb that I get from a friend who has a small farm. Bad enough that the expected company cancelled after I had it defrosted! We had it roast and there was loads left. Wrapped it and put it in the fridge. WHen I got back from shopping the next day the kids were there with their friends and they had scoffed the (considerable) rest for their lunch with the fresh loaf! It was going to be shepherd's pie or something equally delicious. No work of apology or offer to make something else or shop for something else was forthcoming. Yep, been there too :mad:. A wile ago I cooked a suusage casserole for dinner and left it on the side all ready only to watch him stick his fingers in to pick out a sausage to eat now. Did I shout, so he then declaired he would not have any tea.
I also find that unless I devide a cooked dish before tea for batch cooking the family will go back for seconds and eat most of it.:eek:
They are getting better and often ask now.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Well, unless he's a dog or a seal, I';m not sure you canDoes he know which food is for general consumption and which must be left alone
Maybe, as I assume he's a grown man, rather than training, you could just speak to him
And btw, if it were my DH, he's be donning a pinnie and cooking to replace the missing dish :T

Yes I find my mealplans occasionally sabotaged by OH who takes no notice of what's on the board and just eats what he fancies
So come home from work, whats on the board? Sausage and mash...go to freezer...one sausage left after midnight raid on fridge :eek:
He has got much better after a few stern words, although complains that he's not allowed to eat anything lolAlso very good now and recognises if I make extra portions this does not mean he is allowed twice as much that night :rotfl:
