Buggy damaged on flight

Purplegirl, who did you travel with? This could make a difference on how your claim is treated.
Just as a comparison, we arrived back from Vegas and one of our cases was smashed, I mean wheel broken and lock broke, so it was unusable. Had to load up remaining cases with the stuff. We reported it to Delta straight away, got a phone call the next day to ask what sort of case it was while the agent was on the net looking for a supplier and received a new case delivered within 2 days. We didn't ask for any compo even though we were inconvenienced by having to sort out the stuff in the unusable case. (I know it's not the same)
Also had a pair of OH's expensive boots stolen out of my delayed golf bag, United airlines paid £600 to replace them within 4 weeks, with no more than a bank statement to show something was bought from a London shoe shop for that amount.
Now, can you really see any of our cheapo airlines doing that.
I am sorry but I can only see trouble for you if it was Ryanair, jet2, Easyjet, or the like.
Just to make it clear, it was not the airline that damaged your buggy, it was the airport handlers, so if you get the run around from the airline, go for the handling agent (usually seviceair)The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Many people here would do the same, if you can get a bit more for the inconvenience then why not !

If it helps at all, when Ameriacn Airlines damaged our pram, they gave us the form confirming thet the pram was damaged on their flight, and the process that we had to follow to get our money back. As this happened in Dallas Airport, we didn't think that anything would actually happen.
OK, our instructions were to get the pram repaired and include a copy of the reciept for doing so, PLUS any incurred costs (postage, replacemanet pram hire costs etc) and send them to the AA customer service centre in the UK, along with the original form detailing the dates/flights/damage incurred.
We did as were were asked and bish, bosh, bang within 7 days we got a cheque back from them.
This was of course a full service airline, the process may not happen if you are flying with a no-frills airline.
FWiW, I'd consider your chance of any compo to be on the southside of bugggerall.
