  • MrsE you are so right, it just still annoyes me, I know it shouldn't but its just plain rude. Its what makes new people not want to post and happens far too much. I asked a simple question and don't need rude comments about my personal circumtances, they are not helpful.

ok, so your Parents can afford to take you and three children on holiday but can't sub you the £80 to buy another pushchair?

First things first I really hope you reported this before you left the airport otheriwse I would hold up much hope. Simply write a letter to the airline, enclosing a copy of the receipt. Don't bother with compensation as you have suffered no loss or hardship except the damaged buggy.

This happened us in the past with Easyjet. We reported it immediately and they paid for a replacement:D

For future trips have a cheap buggy (£20), may not look nice but if it breaks then you don't really care.

When did I say that the other children were mine? They were not. I cannot ask them to lend me the money as they have just paid for me and my son.

Yes I have the report from the baggage company.

So you not don't want compensation for your terrible experience?

If you can't afford a cheap buggy for the interim, how can you afford to pay for taxis - the magic taxi fund? Clearly you do have the money, but you would rather create a drama out of a slight inconvenience.

When was the last time you travelled in a taxi? I had to take a taxi to and from the supermarket yesterday and it cost me £8.80 in total, not very near £80. As I stated in my OP I do not have £80 to buy a new buggy, that is the simple fact. You may choose to believe me or not, however your rude comments are not in anyway helpful to my original question. I know by responding to you I am simply rising to the attitude of a small minority of members on these boards who like nothing more than posting rude, personal comments. It is something that I find deeply saddening as this forum is extremly helpful to a great many people and people like you make it unpleasent and uninviting.

Look you've paid (well) to travel on holiday for a seat & your luggage, the airline have damaged your goods.
Now you are a compo chaser because you want your buggy replaced;)
If you've been inconvienced so what:rolleyes:

For what its worth they broke the damn buggy they should replace it & a few quid extra for your expenses.

You don't need £80 for a new buggy. Mothercare do them for £30 and they're not the cheapest I'm sure. At least it'll tide you over until you get a replacement paid for by the airline (if you do, knowing how awkward they are). And I know that your parents have already paid for the holiday, but I don't think it would be terribly unreasonable of you to ask them to help you out with the cost of a new one seeing as you can pay them back when (if ;)) you get compensated. I wouldn't want to see anyone struggling, much less a close relative.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

They broke your buggy, they should pay, make em pay. Thats all there is to it. No need for any other sort of compensation. It shouldnt matter if you can pay for another buggy, they broke it, its up to them to reimburse you.

I am now left with no buggy and and don't have the spare cash to just buy another. I have no idea what I will do without one as I do not drive. Can I ask for compensation for this too?

    Can your child walk?

Do your supermarket shopping online for the time being, check out your local gumtree / freecycle / paper for a cheap replacement until you receive the refund of the cost of a replacement buggy.

I wouldn't hold your breath for 'compo' tbh - a simple apology and cost of replacement buggy might be all you get
