please dont worry, I have had a chase reminder that they are going to set the debt recovery team on me within 72 hours (I am still awaiting them to contact me). I have contacted consumer direct where I originally logged this with and they advised to treat this company as though they are strangers in the street (either ignore them or email them back advising you dispute their claims)- I was advised by Consumer direct to get them to take me to court which is highly unlikey that they are going to do this! I have also contacted companies house regarding their LTD registration details, and from what I have been advised I dont think they will be trading for very long and is due to be struck off! I would strongly advise not to contact the mobile number on any of the letters as this is a high rate call number also as I have noticed on a recent phone bill.
I intend to ignore any more letters or calls from this bogus scam untill I receive court proceedings.
I hope the abv has helped, ps go onto the watchdog website to check all hints to help if further info is needed.

thanks for your help really appreciated .. ive already been on watchdog about this i just dont want any people to go to my friends house as it will just seem unfair, the evidence i have got together would make them lose in court anyway as the CAB have helped me alot with this, with the calls i have recorded, with bogus info and the breaching of the contract .. i shall continue to keep egnoring the calls until court proceedings commence as everyone knows on here they dont really have a leg to stand on
  • just bee onto the BCM reunion group on facebook.....the reunion has now officially been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. loads of people complaining who actually wanted to go, saying that toni hughes, the organiser seems to have droped off the face of the planet and is no longer able to deal with sch matters!

Anyones who has paid, small claims court is the way to get your money back.

i used to go on 18-30 holidays every year, mainly because they were cheap and positioned well for bars. I always went knowing when I got there the reps would wake you up at 10am for minging shots and a lecture about how you have to pay them 200 euros for your fortnights fun activities. Which I would usually sign up for. You never had to pay for bar crawls, it was just what the reps did to show you the best bars (and take a commission from the bar) and the events you paid for (boat trips/bbq's etc) were always free drink events.

they have changed in the last few years due to the bad press they were getting over sexual acts being performed on stage, encouraging binge drinking etc, and I last went with 18-30 in 2005 (Ibiza as always). During my last trip with them I too was offered the reunion and went, I thought it was rubbish. Butlins really isnt for me!

I have been back to Ibiza since, 2 years ago. This time I booked normally through thomas cook, got a hotel a few down from the 18-30 one I usually stayed in. I had a fab time, Unguided and Unharassed. I did out of choice find a 18-30 rep and ask to join them on their boat trip (As I hate the old fart and child ridden boat trips!) and realised just how much things have changed!!

Best advice I can give to parents of young adults going to these resorts is this, If you have booked with 18-30 or similar, Make it clear to the reps when you arrive that you DO NOT WANT to go on any reunion. If you do want trips with them book them at the start of the holiday, and you will be given tickets and a planner of events.

Make sure you get a receipt for what you have paid for, stating it is for those events only. For places like IBIZA, early season just as the clubs are opening and up until about late june early july you will get people on the beach giving out free tickets for the clubs (esp in San An) so hang around for those, rather than paying stupid prices just to pay 20 euros for a tiny coke lol. if you are on the beach for more than a hour you are bound to get them. Never, EVER buy events tickets from people wandering about.

There are authorised sales shops that sell genuine tickets in the shopping areas. If you buy on the beach you are likely to lose your money for a fake ticket, and last time I was in Ibiza we were approached by 2 young lads offering £10 bar crawls. I told them I am quite capable of finding the good bars myself, but two girls from the hotel paid, and went to meet the lads, only for their parents to have to go and collect them from the hospital in the morning after having been attacked by them.

Ibiza is a beautiful place, I return time and time again, but its easy pickings for scumbags like this outfit.

  • Hi,

There are 8 of us that had bought and paid in full for tickets to the above event that was supposed to be taking place last november (2010) and were quite dissapointed when it was moved to january this year.
However we all managed to change our time off work and made ourselves avaliable to attend the event in January.
As above the event has since been cancelled completely, and we were all advised that if we e-mailed the address on the facebook group:
    info@bcmreunion.com

we would all receive full refunds.
However nearly a month after this news was announced, still no letter and no phone call regarding refunds.
Me and all my friends have e-mailed and not so much as a curtosy reply!!

Any advise as to what steps to take next?

I Know this event was supposed to go ahead and wasnt a scam from the start as they have been going since 2006 and i have been almost every year.

All we want is the money we paid in good faith returned to us!

Not likely now, they have gone bust.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
