Royal Mail, "I'm alright Jack"

You don't have to be particularly informed to know that the Royal Mail's income is declining while its pension liabilities are increasing.
My original post merely illustrated the first part of the equation.
After your unhelpful comments I shall now take even more pleasure than before (which had previously been just financial and environmental, and not vindictive) in reducing my future postal volume.0 -

really,based on what?
how is the income declining? what sectors?
as for the pension, how did that deficit come about?
what have you been informed on this so far?0 -
Oh please.really,based on what?
how is the income declining? what sectors?
I've just given you an example of building societies taking their AGM voting online.
Haven't you heard of fax/e-mail/text/video-conferencing etc?
Overgenerous promises compared to the private sector, taking no account of increased longevity & a changing business environment.as for the pension, how did that deficit come about?0 -

so RM only deal in bank and building society mail? interesting
and yet packet traffic increases every year
try getting Amazon to fax your next order through
ah so the government taking a 13 year pension holiday made no effect then?
good to have you clearing that up0 -
The government did prevent all companies building up pension credits as a way of avoiding tax - which might also have affected Royal Mail. Should you have been exempt?ah so the government taking a 13 year pension holiday made no effect then?
good to have you clearing that up
Sometimes Amazon comes via RM, sometimes by alternative suppliers.try getting Amazon to fax your next order through
I wonder how your strikes will affect the future percentage

companies? at that time all of RM's profits went right into the government coffers being a public service
at that time RM were in monopoly and making massive profits.so where is the tax avoidance?Sometimes Amazon comes via RM, sometimes by alternative suppliers.

.
thats not really my point is it? or if you want to play games and dodge the point thats fine
while you google you can google downstream access packets or TNT gaining and losing the amazon contract to RM as they couldnt handle it0 -

Good luck!
again you miss the point
the staff (you assume i have an RM pension) paid into this fund during the time, the government chose to not meet their pension commitments
this was all said to be fine given the profits RM made at the time
remember you raised the pension not me0 -

And staff pay into pension schemes up and down the country.
But it doesn't entitle them to anything like the level of benefits that Royal Mail staff are claiming.
you raised the deficit,i raised the issue as to why it came about
seems you dont know about any of the other facts so chose to fixate on the pension
RM's pension has now changed, perhaps you would rather posties worked to 80 and got a bread roll a week?
you raised the strikes yet seem to think they are about what?0
