I have been asked to make a 'cake' with a chocolate theme as the person it is for does not really do smellies. She likes dark chocs and coffee. She saw a baby nappy cake that I made for her daughter and loved it so her daughter wants a similar thing to say thanks.
Any suggestions on how to do it and what to include.
I need to do it by next Wednesday.

I have just done step mum a cake I got her a snuggle blanket from Dunelm £5.99 (called a TV blanket there ) they do come in brown and cream but my local store only had red and I didnt want to risk not getting one as it had to go with a " hottie" which would have been useless without the rest.
It folded and rolled really easy ( a lot easier than the towels) I think I would use either the snuggle or a fleece blanket for the base then " chocolate" theme around it maybe After eights and other chocolates from poundland, and if she likes coffee a jar of carte noir is a real treat for coffee lovers

    Hello Everyone

    Hope you're all well?

It feels like ages since I last posted on here - some lovely cakes being made by you all too!

Here's my latest ones - the lady wanted a gardening theme, so I decided to do that, as well as some Xmas decorations.

  • Hello ladies! i've been watching this thread for ages and admiring all the wonderful cakes!

had a go at a nappy cake before but love the idea of towel cakes! making some for christmas for the family and had no idea what to put in my dads, but I think he would really love the pint of socks! (sorry i can't remember who made it, think it might have been Jill though!) but I would love if someone could give me pointers! is the middle just light brown coloured socks?

Just stumbled across these - what a fab idea for xmas presents, though I have no idea where I would start. Is there any type of tutorial anywhere on how to put these together?

    Hi Sue

There are some tutorials - if you go to You Tube and type in towel cakes, there's a couple will appear.

Or just go to Google and type in towel cake tutorials.

    Hope that helps,
