Oh bums! I assembled my towel cakes, wrapped them in cellophane and was very pleased with them but have just noticed that one bit of ribbon on one of them has come unstuck! Eeeek! It took a huge effort to wrap them in cello and now Im going to have to do it again aren't i...
How do you fasten your ribbon so it doesnt slip or come unstuck?!0 -
chasingsunshine, I make nappy cakes and stick my florist ribbon with double sided tape. I use a hot glue gun for real ribbon.
Depending how you have wrapped the cello, you can usually get your hand into the opening (if you are careful not to rip it) and sort out the inside.0 -
Can anyone help. I have an order for a Hello kitty themed cake for a 10 year old. Anyone got ay ideas of the cheapest places are to get Hello kitty themed gifts? There is quite a lot online but you are talking £3-£4 delivery on top then which if you are buying from a few different places adds up. Also wondered if anyone had seen any Hello Kitty sweets anywhere. TIA x0

cybercandy do a lot of hello kitty sweets usually but can be expensive
i have bought lots of thinsg to mke a hello kitty hamper and ordered a lot from ebay.com
depends how long you have to make it
i also got a lot of HK bargains from argos
got the toaster for £6!
and the mug & mallows thingys from boots on the 3 for 2
my hamper has turned into more of a breakfast tray type affair really
but i got wash cloths/stickers/alarm clock/tissue box covers, things like that from .com for pence, literally
when you search, search for free postage only
i buy a lot from the east and never have problems
and should there be one, they seem very efficient in sorting it out
maybe too late for this towel cake
but maybe for the future?0 -

Hi Everyone,
First attempt of a pamper cake, feedback would be great
Contains 2 x bath towels, 1 x hand towel and 1 x flannel cupcake.
Has a bottle of radox bubble bath in the middle and 2 bath goodies at the side, with a shower puff thingy and about 7 bath pearls.
Hope you like it.
PS looking to sell at a craft fair next week, how much would you pay for it??
Many thanks

I have been asked to make a 'cake' with a chocolate theme as the person it is for does not really do smellies. She likes dark chocs and coffee. She saw a baby nappy cake that I made for her daughter and loved it so her daughter wants a similar thing to say thanks.
Any suggestions on how to do it and what to include.
I need to do it by next Wednesday.

I was in Asda tonight and they have loads of lovely boxes of chocs. Thornton and milk tray etc for 5 pounds and they are big boxes. You could put a nice big mug and get some lovely coffee in. Starbucks Christmas blend is nice.
