I ordered them off ebay, the problem I had was that the lady that ordered them was quite prescriptive with what she wanted it to contain, which is fair enough but it wasn't easy to find the items
Got there in the end though!0 -

Your cake is lovely! I think you could get more than £14 for it too as it has a bath and a hand towel! Both of mine above are £20 they have sold already - thank God! I'm driving my hubby mad taking over the whole house!
I am rushed off my feet too - glad its not just me that feels a bit overwhelmed sometimes with the amount of orders, looking after the boys, house etc!
Got most orders out now there are a few lingering in the living room ready to be delievered, just need to cello themProud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -
OOOH fab cakes ladies . My d/h went shopping today as he's fed up of falling over my stuff and came back with four sets of towels he thought i might have a use for . They are fab i'll try posting piccys later. Beautiful colours and feel good quality. He only went for some storage trolley's for the other stuff . pmsl.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how you hold the towels together after rolling them. I have made a towel cake for a friends little girls birthday, its a bit messy as the pattern is right in the middle of the towel. I have used safety pins at the back, but wanted to know if there was another method.
Thanks

Hi Debbie
I have made cakes a few times where the pattern is in the centre and you don't want to cover it up, it can be tricky. Firstly make sure that the towel is folded as neatly as you can then roll as neatly as you can. I always fasten at the back with safety pins so sorry don't know of another method - well one that wouldn't cover the picture on the front of the cake
If the towel won't stand well then try a long thin piece of card inside to give it some structure

Thank you carly, I will give it another go, her birthday isn't until next week, and I have ran out of cello wrap too, hopefully getting more on monday.

Hi,
I'm normally on nappy cake thread too but my pamper hamper cakes are taking off at the mo...time of year!:j
I use 'sellotape'double sided tape to fasten my towels at the back then just tie tightly with the ribbon. I also have started to use a strip of cardboard inside the towels.
the ones posted all look fab. I normally charge around 12.50 for a single layer and £20 for a 3 layer (one of each bath hand and face cloth).
Is this the sort of price that others get?
Anyway back to the table before little one wakes up have 2 fairs this weekend so hopefully get rid of the last lot I've made up. Got a couple of order from hubbys work too!too much to do! Not enough time.0
