Thanks for this Brainhertz. Well, personally, I'm very happy to hear this! I hope they go to the wall competely. Who needs these nasty rip-off merchants anyway? They exploit innocent, unsuspecting shoppers with their tempting but false opening offers and once they've sucked you in, they pounce, and you forever regret the day you got involved with them. I'm extremely happy to be shot of them and hope they are gone for good.

HA after all the trouble Bclub/britannia gave me and finally after god knows how long managing to cancel my membership they've sent me a letter appoligising for the hassel, saying they changed things and its been very hectic and heres a £10 voucher to spend in the magazine...
No way am I ordering anything from them again especially now i've got everything sorted..
Needless to say i've shredded the voucher and put it in the recycling bin :D

Good for you Steph. Don't get sucked in by them again. Believe me they haven't changed - they'll still rip you off. They're just trying to sweeten the pill by giving everybody a £10 voucher in the hopes that people will purchase something from their catalogue and then they'll get their claws into people again - with complicated contracts that you can't get out of. Omg I can't believe they're doing this - they shouldn't be allowed. Some people will no doubt fall for it. I haven't received anything yet but when/if I do, I'll do exactly the same as you Steph.

Britrannia/musicandfilm/DDHE are owned by a company called Medal Entertainment & Media (MEM) who bought musicandfilm/Britannia last October and merged them with DDHE which they already owned.

MEM shares were suspended on the London Stock Exchange this week and the company is going into liquidation. The company blamed higher than expected debt and integration costs at Britannia. Sales had also been reported as being below target.

Unless the administrators can find another sucker to buy musicandfilm/Britannia (unlikely) it looks like a case of Byeeee.

Absolutely nothing. They have gone bust and are no longer trading.

I ordered a DVD for my hubbie from DDHE about a month ago. After getting fed up of waiting, my hubbie told me to cancel. I phone up today and was told that they can't cancel orders or fulfill any orders as they went into administration on Friday!! They also had the cheek to charge my credit card about a week after I placed the order!!

    Humpf!!

Contact your Credit Card company and insist on a refund.

If anyone paid cash/cheque for something they haven't received then you should write to the administrators c/o the company and lodge a claim, however it will probably be years before you get anything back and it will only be a fraction of what you are owed.

Bridget just called me and i thought screw it and settled the payment of 14 pounds of which i sent the dvd back (happy feet) with my cancellation letter. She informed me that my account had been cancelled (so why did they not get the dvd then as it was in teh same package!!!)

she can't do anything unless i find my proof of postage which i have lost...

Crickey! - I wouldn't have paid for something I hadn't ordered and had sent back.

Don't forget that the company is now being run by the administrators - not the original management so it will be interesting to see if they use the same heavy handed methods when it comes to debt collection.

The company is not actually trading at the moment and can only collect monies owed, not pay any back.
