Anyone know if it's possible to counterclaim for damages or anything. I'd hate for them to keep getting away with this. People such as my gran or may parents would end up getting suckered for lots of money and pay it without a second thought.0

Just found this thread with interest. I am stuck in contract with this company.....I have dug out the original Channel T&C and unfortunatly it does state
"As a Channel customer you will have to buy at least six products at the Channel price. You must buy at least one of those six products every three months after you join."
"If you don't buy six products at the Channel price within the time period or if you cancel your Channel account before you've bought six products, you'll be liable to an agreement fee of £25"
so they've got ya unless you purchase the six products (at not the cheapest prices) Bugga!!!!
I think im gunna cut my losses as iv only had 3dvd's off them:(
goodluck everyone else0 -

If you have bought 6 titles at their full price then you have fulfilled your agreement and may cancel without charge. (see their terms & conitions #4)
....or to put it another way - they've cheated enough out of you so get out now and don't give them any more.

Thanks, i shall be writing them a letter of cancellation with the above point mentioned. The woman on the phone yesterday said i would be forever sent films by the horrible lot, unless i cancel, i got the impression i would still have to pay a cancellation fee0 -
Let them send you the DVDs and then ring them to say you not received them. They should credit your account and now the tables have turned.you have now conned the con artist. Its their own fault for not getting you to sign for them and forcing bad T&Cs on people. Just an idea like not that I have done it myself hey.0

Glad I wasa able to help. - I also suggest that you send it recorded delivery otherwise they will probably claim that they never received it.

The original Website was called Channel.com and it didn't look like a club, it looked a lot like play.com. It was new and this was supposed to be an introductory offer!
i signed up for that last year sometime, when it was channel and it did clearly say many times it was a club.
it even confirms that you will agree to buy so many titles over the next year or two during sign up.
they tempt you in with offers, sometimes really good, (i got 5 brand new DVD's for £20 inc postage) but then you have to keep buying a DVD every few months at full price0
