Hi
Thanks for all the wishes for Noah.
Sorry not been on since weekend. Was at work yesterday and OH stayed off to look after DS. I argued at work to get annual leave day for today to look after DS. They are so unhelpful. There is no way OH could do both days as he is self employed and has jobs arranged and of course he gets no money on days he doesnt work and we are already playing catch up with money from when OH was off ill last week:rolleyes:. Work were not happy but tough there is nothing I can do, my child comes first not NHS.
Noah is much better than he was:T.....needing to be forced to drink as still dehydrated but the temp is much better....not 39.4 anymore. Has a troublesome cough and sore throat and no energy.
Waiting for Sainsbugs delivery this morning and need to get BM on.
Will just potter about doing jobs inbetween looking after Noah.
Happy Birthday PenPen0 -

Hi Guys,
Im feeling much brighter this morning. Thankyou for all your hugs yesterday. I got help to write my letter and that has been sent and backed up by email in case the postal strike happens. So we wait and see. Im also feeling more in control as I have organised the washing and feel tidy. I need to get beds sorted and changed but thats a job for tomorrow I think. i have been very OS as regards meals and did a bolognaise bake last night using the bolognaise sauce from Saturday (made by kids dad).
Howvere not sure what for tea tonight as yet! Im going to get into meal planning. Been meaning to do it for ages.
I have DS2 at home today as he has this virus that has been going around. He is a lovely chap and very nice to have around even when he is poorly so Im more than happy to be looking after him.
Hope you have a good day,
MollyxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning all.
Happy Birthday Pen-Pen
npm - glad Noah is getting better
Have a whole list of stuff to do today, so am determined not to waste the day sat on the computer like I normally do!
I need to think about Christmas shopping as well, although waiting for the kids to do their Santa lists, as don't know what they want! I know DS wants yet more star wars lego, no idea about DD. I do have all their birthday presents sorted for November though, so thats one less thing to worry about.0 -
Morning All
Very tired today! Kept waking up last night, not entirely sure whether that was to do with the fact that I was cold or disturbed by our downstairs neighbours doing the wild monkey dance at 4am . In our flat (or should I say our old flat?! :j) it's economy 7 storage heating which could be sued under the trade descriptions act as we found out when we first moved in as a) we were cold and b) it was NOT economical in the slightest!!! So anyway, we have an oil filled radiator which has a timer on in so unlike the storage heaters it doesn't have to be either on or off, but last night I had to move it out of the bedroom as we have loads of boxes strewn about so I would most likely have tripped over it on one of my middle of the night loo trips! As for the neighbours - how does one ask that they keep their... ahem... theatrics to a minimum?!
Anyway, DH and I are going to see Spandau Ballet tonight! (DH's pressie for his birthday back in April) Very excited - DH was a bit of a New Romantic back in his day so may have to try and find something cheap and ruffly for him to wear when I pop out on lunch today!:rotfl:
Have packed him off to work with a beef stew with pearly barley and dumplings for lunch and will have something quick like beans on toast before we go out tonight!
Have a lovely day, hugs and best wishes to all

Morning all!
Grey and bloomin cold here today, heating finally went on last night, couldn't leave the kids with chattering teeth whilst I went off to work lol! Got dd2 home with a stinking cold and dd3 home with a rash - looks like an allergic reaction rather than pox or measles.
Very good news at work last night, I still have a fortnight's holiday to organise, woohoo! Shame my payslip won't cover a break in the Caribbean!!!
OS stuff today has involved sorting out the pets and the kitchen so far, will need to do some washing, bung on bm and yoghurt and sort out dinner. Money saving stuff has involved sorting out this year's save as you earn stuff from work, I don't really notice the money going as it's deducted from my salary before I see it, so I find it a really good way of saving, no danger of reallocating the money anywhere!
Lunches for ds and dd1: cheese sarnies, choc muffins, apple/banana
Lunches for dd2, dd3 and me: veg stew from yesterday with a healthy dollop of tagine paste I think and couscous
Dinner: can't remember what's on the menu plan, going to browse Nigel Slater in a mo, so it might change anyway! There will def be a pud though, as dd2 is pudding obsessed at the mo - if I get organised I might make a few suet puds in the steamer.
OH gave me my sausage skins yesterday, I'm so excited, strange how so few people share my enthusiasm! Just need to get some port out of the freezer and then can have a go at the weekend when OH is around - yep he actually has a weekend off for a change, only cos it's our village travelling supper though, but it'll be fun!
Right time for a coffee and medicine for the poorlies, then back for a catch up, have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Oh Ladyshopper - This is so me, too - I waste hours on the laptop! Sometimes wonder just how much I'd get done if internet were down for a week!
Taplady - yes you can see "Coal House at War" on the iplayer - I need to catch up with it too,
Hilstep - well done on the award nomination - your Dad has found a great way to let you know how much he appreciates all you do!
:bdaycake:PenPen - enjoy your day!
Thriftlady - I love reading about your food - I always think your kitchen must feel so warm and welcoming! I'd be more than happy to help with the leftovers!
NPM - glad Noah seems to be on the mend.
Norictat2 - the bike incident sounds very scarey - I'd not want to get on again!
Well - DH was fine at the hospital yesterday, although I don't think he'd go so far as to recommend the procedure! he can't drive for 24 hours so is home today - lovely. The house still needs a lot of housework doing to be ready for sister's visit - so to end as I began - shouldn't spend so much time on here!
Have a good day everyone!
PS - Diva - sorry your voice is still at squeak volume!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Morning all :hello:
It's a lovely autumn morning here. Donny gal, you should try another visit to Scotland. It doesn't actually rain ALL the time and I for one would not live anywhere but here.
Diva and Bargainbird....the table wouldn't be to everyone's taste (think flowery 1970's tiles), which is probably why it went overboard.
I'm very jealous of your Aga Ruby.
Love to Jayne and George. xxxx
Glad you're enjoying the new car Pink. I don't think you're mad at all:A.........:silenced::shhh::whistle:
Norictat2, glad the bike incident wasn't too bad. Motorbikes terrify me _pale_
Happy Birthday Penelope Penguin.
Still quiet here without the girlies. Feels very odd but it is nice to spend some quality, uninterrupted time with OH (shut it Aussie) Today we're going to try for another walk and see if there are any mushrooms left.
The blackberry and apple cake I made yesterday was brilliant. I even did some vanila cream to go with it and it felt very indulgent.I resoundingly thrashed OH at monopoly so there may be a rematch today.
OS wise I need to clean out the hens, potter in my greenhouse, sweep some leaves from the decking and make my third attempt in three days to bake brownies. It's my usual recipe but they aren't working and they're a pressie so they have to be right.
I'm going to hang a load of washing on the line and that's about it.
Tea is l/o keema peas for OH and l/o stew for me so just some crusty bread to make for that.
Have lovely days everyone. xxx0
