Hi Pen, lovely to see you have returned to your diary. You sound uber confident as ever
Glad to see you have booked a small trip away with the family. I know in reality it costs a fair bit but there is nothing like getting away from your usual surroundings for a while. However with your determination I know you wont go over board anyway... Just make sure DS dosn't turn into a prune :rotfl:
 at spends this week but at least you have nipped it in the bud now and not 5/6 weeks down the line. Sometimes its good to go back and have a week 'off' though and you do deserve it. Have fun reading while on lunch, have you joined the libary for 'free' books?
Take care as always, I admire you :T0 -
Hi Pap, hope you are well. x
I can't believe how much I spent last week - some of it was groceries but none of it was essential
I spent yesterday evening reading through the advice on the DFW threads here and realise I need to build some treat money into the budget. I'm a bit of an all or nothing sort of person.
So, I've decided each time I get paid (I get 3 payments a month) I will put £20 back into a fund for just for me. If I don't want anything then it can sit and gather interest somewhere but I need to make sure that I don't let the money be used up on groceries or household expenses. I am the main earner at home, juggling 2 jobs and I forget about myself sometimes. I guess thats why I've been getting so stressed and fed up with it all.
Anyway, enough whingy drivel, today's expenditure is:
Groceries £10
Pink Wine (for me! tonight) £4.29
Easter Egg (to be hid, for DS) £5
Not too bad at all for a Saturday especially as I had DH with me in the supermarket! Our wages are still outstanding so I've spent a very cheap afternoon scrubbing the tiles in the bathroom - my life is so exciting!
DH has kindly offered to cook for us this evening and DS is out overnight, so its going to be a nice cosy evening in for the two of us.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
A busy day at Pen towers. Up early to take DS to his sports event - was good to be out but really grotty in the wind and rain. Then family came round and I ended up treating the nephews to chip shop tea.
So spends today:
Fish n Chips £14
Not too bad as normally we would waste loads wandering around a supermarket and then not be bothered to cook and get a takeaway delivered. So about £40 cheaper than a normal week. I waste sooo much money. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Its Tuesday already, where did Monday go!?!
Pen Towers is as crazy as normal. Had major shoe event with DS today - why is it so difficult to get a shopping phobic a nice trendy but inexpensive pair of shoes for school. Makes me feel like the wicked witch of the west! And I know if I settle for a budget plastic pair he will kill them within a week. How come we all had to have a basic pair of clarks lace ups when we were at school. When did the rules change?
Money wise, not doing too bad. I've manage fairly easily to get back into a good lunchtime routine. Today was helped considerably by a supplier treating us to posh sarnies. Probably a good job as our bread has gone past his best and could be used for roof tiles.
Just got milk and cat food today so a good shopping trip. Didn't take the family with me, which helps loads. Also managed to put my spare council tax payment into the savings again - which is brill, as I now have a bit for the holiday if we need it.
Hopefully some more sunshine tomorrow, its doing wonders for my mood at the moment. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Another dry and almost sunny day at Pen Towers, managed to get a whole load of washing dry on the line - bliss.
My day off this week and DH was home (sadly no work again) so we did a visit to MIL (not too painful x) and then a friend of mine who I haven't seen for ages came round tea time. A nice and social day and very little spent.
Petrol £45
Groceries £10
I've lost the TV tonight to the boys though, something to do with a foottie match!?!This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

:rotfl: Pen...
You are doing so well especially holding down work with Pen towers. How's the kittens coming along? Not costing you too much in money and time I hope
Take care :T0 -
Hiya Pap, kittens are sooo huge now. Pablo in particular is going to be the tallest cat I know. They go outside now and their fav thing is to bring leaves and twigs in as pressies (at least its not mice or birds yet:eek:).
I am very very busy but I love both my jobs and my employers are really helpful at letting me fit everything in. I'm gradually learning to fit a bit of me in as well so its ok and if I'm busy with everything else, at least I'm not spending.:DThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0
