Well, I've finally de-stressed thanks to a nice long Christmas break - so its back with the debt busting and savings plans.

I have a couple minor debts of my own that I am going to hit with the next 100 day challenge and then I will be clear again and I can start putting back some savings.

Unfortunately at the same time I have a nasty family debt that needs a bit of care too, so I'm going to have to try and hit that one back into shape.

Christmas at Pen Towers was very good, and we were blessed with good company, humour and basically a fun, family time (despite a bit of a ropey start to December). There were no major overspends and I managed to keep out of the sales and still knock a bit off the debt every day.

So looking forward to the new year, home made lunches, on-line grocery shopping and spending diaries - here we come! I WILL have enough put back for a small holiday in the summer this year, I am determined!!!

(Oh and I've ordered my quitting smoking kit from the NHS too - I want some spending money for the holiday!)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Well done Pen! Glad christmas went well and you seem to have come out the other side with plenty of motivation! :T

  • I've just realised one of my little debts is the same amount of money I was given for Christmas - so that's one down then. Another £50 to add to my 'achieved during Christmas' total, rather than just blown on more tat in my over flowing wardrobe.

  • Happy new year Pen :j

Glad you have had a lovely christmas break at Pen towers. I guess its back on teh debt busting wagon for many of us on mse. I am sure you will do well though, I mean you have already cleared £50 :o No stopping you :rotfl: Good luck with the family debts, I guess those are the ones that have hung around the longest too...

I still cant believe you are still PaD'ing over the christmas and new year, thats dedication. I guess if it keeps you motivated though its all good. Shame you havent had chance to shop in the sales though. However to be honest its usually all the tat that no-ne else wants to infact you have made a great choice :T

Good luck in the coming year Pen, I am sure you will do really well. I really hope you can get on a holiday this year, even if its a uk one. You really deserve it. Oh and good luck on the quiting smoking :A

Happy new year Pap and Rictus. Fingers crossed we all have a pretty decent 2010.

Not quite a NSD today. Went to town with the family to catch a movie (but I'm still ignoring the sales). Then had to get my hair cut as I was starting to looking like a wild woman .

So I did spend a little but I also threw any remaining cash that was hanging about off one of the more evil debts, so that makes £570 now paid off this Christmas. Shows how much I used to waste during the holidays. I can't wait until I can start saving this money instead.

I'm concerned about both DH and my jobs in the new year, so I'm keen to get minimum payments down to as low as possible and any easy debt gone, just in-case.

Hope everyone who bothers to read this has a good NY eve tomorrow and that 2010 is prosperous for all of us, Pen. x
