Verry good deal indeed!
Elite = £189 (Amazon)
Wireless Headset = £22 (Play)
Wireless Network Adapter = £39 (Pixmania)
Xbox Live (12m) = £40 (HMV)
Pure = £15 (BlahDVD)
Lego Batman £11 (The Hut)
Forza 3 = £40 (HMV)
Fifa 10 = £32 (Ebuyer)
Which works out about £390 separately
Our old Xbox360 also got the RRoD and I ended up getting a kit (bolts, washers and heatsink paste + good instructions) of ebay for a fiver and it's worked brilliantly (so far).
Microsoft wanted £90.00 for out warranty (3 year) repair (yeah, right).
Disn't fancy that towel trick!:eek:0 -
Just asked about the Xbox Live for 12 months and they didnt know about it.
Is the deal mentioned earlier from Amazon not better as you get more choice?

You've got me worried now. Everything except the Forza and Fifa game was in the box. I didn't actually get everything out of the box to check but the box said all the other stuff was included. I've left it my Dad's as it's a Christmas pressie for DS. Will pop round later to check and will post back.0 -
I do apologise - have checked the box and Dad pointed out the very small print which said - "your enjoyment can be expanded by have: Xbox Live Gold Membership/wireless controller/wireless network adapter".
Here's what I got for £199:
In the box:
Xbox 360 Console (black) with 120 gb hard drive
Composite AV Cable
Power Supply/Power Cord
Ethernet Cable
Wireless Controller
AA Batteries
Headset (not wireless)
Xbox Live Silver Membership
Pure/Lego Batman
+ Fifa 10 and Forza 3
Sorry for causing confusion - that's what happens when you let a clueless Mum around anything technical. I will show this post to my DS after christmas. At 11 he already finds me a bit of an embarrassment - this will just confirm to him that he's right.:o
Will I need a wireless network adapter - we have broadband and use laptops wirelessly?0 -

you will unless you use a wired connection to the 360
you can used gaming bridges as well which are cheaper but not so plug and play as the 360 adapter0 -
Just to let you all know the deal that lurkylurky got in sainsburys my OH got the exact same deal from sainsburys in bolton today so must be nationwide, hth0

I got the Xbox elite, additional wireless controller and 2 games (pure and lego batman) for £199 from play.com, having looked at game, argos etc the £199 deal is pretty common, its whether you want an additional controller or 'better' 'newer' games instead. I have 2 boys so 2 controllers was the better deal for me.0
