It is always difficult to know the timing of a deep fryer. Some of them can be more powerful than others.
I have the Inventum Twin Deep Fryer GF760 (from the Inventum Shop) that has two heating elements of 2000 Watt each. It actually has two individual plugs.
This allows me to cook chips in about 5mins. This is what the user manual stated:
"Fry the fresh fries in two times. The first time (precooking)
5 to 10 minutes on 170 degrees. Lift the
basket, let the oil drain and let the fries cool down
for several minutes. For the second batch, turn the
temperature control (cooking) to 190 degrees and cook
the fries in 2 to 4 minutes. Lift the basket after frying
and let the oil drain."
But it all depends on the flavor I want to achieve and thickness of potatoes I use really.
Frozen Chicken cooks in about 8 minutes as it is slightly thicker.
I have started making my own breaded chicken breasts - there are hundreds of recipes online. My kids love the breaded drums also.
(That is when the dual fryer comes in really handy and truly saves times).
Overall I have read somewhere that its better to fry at a higher temperature for shorter periods of time to reduce the amount of oil that is absorbed by the food itself. (This has to be within reason of course).
I hope this input helps somehow.
