I have a muddy dog and a son who just loves to make a mess and spill everything over my pale blue leather sofas! I use baby wipes or a mild solution of soapy water and it always works for me! :)
My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.

Thanks for all these tips everyone and links. I`m getting my first leather suite this week and hope to keep it good for years.

Regardless of wipes, I think a cream sofa and animals is going to work very well. Or any sofa for that matter.

I can't believe so many people let animals clamber all over furniture. And expensive leather sofas at that. My old dog was never allowed on the furniture.

I can't see how claws won't scratch it.

Hi I clean for a danish lady who uses soap flakes to clean her leather suite. She told me that they use soap flakes as the fat in the flakes feeds the leather and the soap cleans it. Tried this on my cream leather suite and it works a treat. No need to rinse just dry with a soft cloth . Hope this helps.
  • animals are part of the family would you stop children on a sofa as they are just as bad, i have had my leather for 10 yrs and wipe it over with baby wet wipes and still looks good no fading or dryness

On a related note (as I too have a cream leather suite), does anybody know where I can buy saddle soap in central or south London? Saddlers and tack shops aren't exactly two a penny in the urban jungle :D
