Oven gloves for breadmaker

I need oven gloves.

I don't have any as I use tea-towels, I always think oven gloves are dirty looking things.

But I got a bread maker now & the pan comes out red hot & you have to grip it & stop the handle dropping down & pump it up & down a couple of times to get the bread to drop out.

Was thinking of silicone (clean) gloves but these are more mitt like & perhaps suited to taking things out of the oven only.

What gloves do you use when tipping your bread out, do you have silicon grip areas on yours to get a good hold on it?

Whatever I buy must be black, otherwise I will put them away & not take them out to use them:o

I'm looking at padded mittens

, mittens with the long band joining them, silicon gloves.

Lots of Le Cruset & Stellar on ebay in black.
I guess if I go for the mittens I will need two.

Got a burnt thumb:(

I just use a clean tea towel to lift it out by the handle then tip it upside down and tap it, the bread just falls out easily?

I've always used a teatowel, but I think an oven mitt/glove thing would be useful anyway - good for getting the large full Le Cruset out of the oven weighting 3 stone:rotfl:

    DH keeps moaning too.

Well it feels three stone anyway:p
  • We've got a number of these http://www.aladdinscookware.co.uk/product.asp?PID=844 you can probably buy them cheaper.

Because they are proper gloves I find it easier to grip things.

I did look at those, but they don't make them in black, so I will put them away & grab the tea-towel instead:o:o:o

I think I might get some of those, they must be great for people with a weaker wrist?

I'd imagine so as you get good control because you're gripping as you would do usually. I also rest things on the heel of my hand as well if I'm lifting something heavy.

We have a couple of pairs and we use them for camping and at home an they seem to have lasted for ever. They do only appear to come in one colour but that doesn't bother me, to be honest ours our grubby enough that they are quite black anyway :rotfl: Must be time to chuck them in the wash!
