Barclaycard Decline

Hmm.
I don't know, I suppose it stands to reason, you seeing that patten.
After all, people tend to resort to the likes of Capital One Classic, Vanquis, and Aqua once their credit report is shot to pieces beyond the possibility of a sub-30% card. It's only reasonable that the Barclaycard Initial is harder to get, carrying the lowest APR of all the sub-prime cards.
That, and a Capital One Classic was my first card (back when they were 29.9%), and I got a Barclaycard Initial with a £2,000 limit a year later (back when it was 25.9%). They offered me a 6.9% LOB with it as well which I was very surprised about! I used the LOB to transfer my Cap 1 Classic and Natwest Classic balances over. I shan't be seeing offers like that again for some time to come...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I recently applied for a Barclaycard and was declined.
On my decline letter it states the following.
"When we concider applications, we take into account your financial circumstances, including the information on your application form, and we also make any credit reference or other enquires we concider necssary. Unfortunatly you did not meet the required criteria"
What you do think this means? I earn over 25k, am on the ER.
I am aware that I do have a limited credit history however, previous declines are usually due to credit scoring.
I thought that maybe BC have looked at my Barclays account and seen that I was overdrawn?
What do you think?
Cheers
Innocent
It means as it means, you did not meet their necessary requirements, therefore, they do not want your custom.
Regardless of how much you have, or earn, Banks or Credit Card Providers are not obliged to accept you. They don't even need to provide a valid reason why, you can of course appeal it, but generally they ask that if you cannot provide additonal evidence enough to support your application, then the decision to decline will still stand.0 -
In ref to the OP.
I know that Barclaycard used to be one of the easist cards to obtain. However I know a few people recently whom have strangely been declined.
I think the banks have had their hands slapped, and now are being very cautious.0 -
