My bill is huge too. Over on IPD they call low-carbing teh 'poshkins' diet because you end up spending so much. I'm also very much a free-range meat person, always have been as I was veggie most of my life and my conscience won't let me do it. However, there are tricks. Try to think eggs, tofu and cheese, as they;re cheaper proportionately. Look out for 'whoopsies' and special offers, stock up in your freezer. Try buying frozen rather than fresh as it's always cheaper. And check out Lidl's freezer section - you can get amazingly decadent things like venison and lobster for really cheap.0

OK, techno dimbo here. How do I post a pic? It's asking me for the url but the pic is on my hard drive not online.
*wears dunce hat*0 -
You need to sign up to photobucket.com or some other picture hosting site. Once you've registered, you upload your pic to there. You then just copy the url of where your pic is and paste it here, into your post.Herman - MP for all!0

Oh right, so I do have to put it online. That was the bit I couldn't figure out. Doh.0

yes my food bill is alot more now as well, OH got a bit ratty before in Asda and said 'for gods sake when are you going to start eating proper again' !!! His eating proper means - chips, pasta etc as it's cheaper.
I told him I will prob carry it on as it's not as bad as I thought (bitsy - I was a carb-a-holic as well and really didn't think I could do it but it's suprising how easy it is and filling once you put your mind to it.
Had my cauli pizza, it looked fantastic when it was cooked but it got stuck on the foil, think I will have to get some parchment paper (is that greaseproof paper?) and try it again.
Was very filling though.0 -
sarah hope you get the pics sorted out i'm dying to see
Alias hope the acupuncture works , do the magnets go right through your ear  what are they for
my food bill seems to be huge and getting huger every week:eek:
I tend to buy a cooked chicken once a week and i just pull bits of to nibble on over a couple of days
for the cauli pizza i used one of those reusable non stick sheets to cook it on and it slid right off0 -
i wrote a huge post hours ago and off it went again, into the ether.
My broadband was down then
Anyway, cant remember but it said, Alias, i laughed all the way through your accupuncture post, you are a tonic
Sweet, my pizza was 'interesting' too, wont be making it again tho, i'd rather use the bread recipe i occasionally use.
Bitsy, i said the same as Sarah, frozen is good, berries, fish and things like pork steaks and chicken, eggs and cheese have always been a staple and we've always been big meat eaters so i dont buy much more than usual, i have salad, spinach or courgettes and the boys have the carbs.
I also said that Aldi and Lidl are good, especially for veg, and those crackers are great with cheese and pate or even home made veg soup.0 -
