    Afternoon gang

welcome to all the new peeps :):)

Sistercas/Sarah, you are both doing brill! Sis - i didn`t realise that you had lost so much wish i could sort myself out!

I`m still stuck in my rut i`m afraid but its lovely reading that so many of you are finally climbing out of yours! :j

Actually i`m not doing too badly, i need to stop the naughty snacking habit which has reappeared and i`ve managed to cut it down so there is hope for me yet. I am actually a stone and a half lighter than my heaviest so there has been some improvement, just need some willpower - has anyone seen any for sale anywhere :rotfl:

The two best diets that i`ve tried have been lcing and slimming world in that order. I`d love to get back to LC but i`m eating in more of a SW way atm, just doing more red days than green so i`m hopeful that i`ll get there eventually. I keep losing the same few lbs and then finding them again but at least i`m not creeping up above the norm IYKWIM

Having a nice stir fry for tea later with noodles and i`m really looking forward to it, came home from work and had a huge glass of tropical juice, i put about 2" of juice in a tall glass and topped it up with fizzy water so very refreshing and not nearly as many cals etc as a whole glass of just juice would have been :D

Need a quick nap then i shall feel almost human again, lovely here today so i shall spend some time in the garden later, keep busy and i`ll be fine :D

    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Does anyone use food to calm them down?

I have got annoyed with something and desperate to eat something to calm me down but it is never good to eat when angry.

Also, does anyone feel more irritated when they are fighting hunger?

    You see the pattern...
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

Ooooh, that reminds me, can anyone remember the name of the low-carb noodles that were mentioned on the low-carb thread ages ago?? I keep thinking 'shitake' but they're mushrooms!! I've made a couple of stirfries in the last few weeks but I've used egg noodles & won't be able to do that if I'm starting low-carb again.

Thanks for the lacto info, sarah, twas me that was asking before & you gave me the google link, will try & find :o

Btw sunny, that drink sounds lush, could just do with that as my mouth feels all yuk after eating fruit pastilles all afternoon

    Yes to everything :o

Think the irritability might be to do with low blood sugar though, for me anyway.

Ok, I think I've answered my own question, I've had a quick look on the low-carb thread & it mentions shirataki noodles Anyone on here tried them??

ETA: Have been googling around & the shirataki noodles only seem to be available online. I can't be bothered with that!!
Anyway, someone on another website uses strips of courgette as noodles, she uses a spiralling gadget (?) to get the right sort of shape/thickness. Think I'll just use mazzers' method for her courgette 'pasta' & use a veggie peeler.

Also looked at the Lactofree website & the semi-skimmed version is 2.8g carbs per 100ml.

I went into Monsoon on a whim this morning and grabbed a size 12 shirt. It fitted nicely..............At my largest, at the beginning of 2008, I was a size 20. Since then I've lost a total of 47 lb. Gosh, that sounds quite a lot written like that!

Sarah I didn't realise you were that size, I always thought you were less and didn't have loads to lose. Well done, you should be very rightly proud of yourself. :T

Ive made the desicion to start a diet today's the day! I weighed myself and came in at 18st10lbs and want to lose 7st11lbs to get me to my target of 10st13lbs. Then I will plan the wedding!
I am doing a three day diet to start me off with a boost ( I know this weight will probably get put back on, but i just want to give myself a boost and watch those numbers go down!) then I hope to continue on the SW plan (old style not new)

If anyone would like to be my diet buddy, please PM me. I could do with some help!

    Good Luck Everyone xx

I don't know if anyone else has these issues of using food for reward and get bored of preparation and restrictions.

I'm the standing joke around here when it comes to preparation and cooking etc. I HATE cooking and I moan regularly. I do tend to find a few things that are simple and I have them quite a lot which then makes them boring after a while.

It's like everything else though, you only get out what you put in. So I do try to make an effort sometimes but it's soooo tedious.

Yes! Oh Yes! One of my problems was (been trying very hard to curb it but still have it to a degree) is when other people, usually OH or eldest son tick me off and I get stressed. I then look and act a bit like the Hulk in my rage to tear open the junk cupboard and bite the end of a biscuit or a bag of crisps.

After the first few days on low carb food (3-4 for me) I don't feel hungry anymore so thankfully that doesn't go on for too long.

    Good evening ladles and jellyspoons:p

Had a nice day today, got myself some contact lenses to try:D Never used them before so i'm looking forward to wearing them. Got some nice undies in the Calvin Klein sale and mooched around town for a bit. Was lovely as i don't usually get a chance to do it on my own.

Still using the Paul McKenna system and i'm so much more relaxed around food now - i've had a bar of Lindt chocolate in the fridge for about 3 days now and i haven't even opened it:T
