Right ok, I have just weighed myself - 1lb loss since last Thursday - obviously good considering I have been off work for 4 days and I do feel like I am eating all the time but I can't help feel slightly dissapointed that it's only 1lb:( I thought it would be melting off me by now
I have been really good for a week so was expecting 2lb loss, never mind I suppose a loss is a loss.

I bet am eating something that is stalling me - wonder what it is though??

I've just had the chap out to assess the damage to my ceiling. He says in order to achieve the same standard of good finish, the whole ceiling needs to come down which means all the wall units coming off and the kitchen being out of action for a week. Estimated costs around the £3k mark.

I need to phone the insurance company but I'm scared. :(

It's taken away my appetite again. :)

Woo hoo, did that yourself didnt you :T

Do not, repeat, do not be afraid of the insurers, they take your premiums quick enough.
I had to fight for a year to win my critical illness insurance claim.
Consultant cardiologist, and senior university lecturer in cardiology, said i'd had a heart attack, but some jumped up little nob in the claims dept thought otherwise, i asked him what medical expertise he posessed and he said... none, i slammed the phone down and the battle began, i said they should be ashamed for trying to avoid a payout, as i was a hard working single mum who paid the premiums with great difficulty for the security of a payout if i was ill, and i met all the criteria, so we will see what the courts decide!!
    Also wrote to the ombudsman.
Got my payout in the end :j

    BTW, cost of payout 37.5 k :)

Ooh just remembered my battle with the emergency cover insurance too.

Front door lock broke and was unable to be locked, the cover stipulated that if a door could not be locked it was regarded as an emergency. A tradesman was sent who said it needed a new lock as it couldnt be repaired but was an expensive one (upvc door) and the insurers didnt do replacements, only repairs.
I phoned the insurers who said that they would not replace the lock, only jam the door closed to cover the emergency, i said i had no rear access and once i 'unjammed' the door to got to work, the emergency would still be there or did they expect me to go in and out of the window?
A battle ensued and as i had to go to bed with the door left open and kids in the house for several days while they dilly dallied they were breaking the rules of the contract by not remedying the emergency.

    Got a new lock :)

Both genuine claims, and i was like a dog with a bone as i had made my payments and expected decent service.

Yip. :D The cost of materials to fix this would be less than £500 so just shows what labour and vat amount to. I can easily fix it again myself but that's what I'm paying insurance for so it seems daft to not claim....especially when I'm DIY'd out at the minute anyway. I would struggle to get the motivation right now tbh.

I've already warned the bloke that I'm not an easy person to deal with. I have certain standards which have to be met and if they're not then I'll complain. I gave him fair warning and a chance to refuse the job. :rotfl:We talked about specific types of materials etc so he knows I know what I'm talking about so hopefully he wont be tempted to cut corners etc. That's if the insurance agree, that is.

Got my payout in the end :j

    Well worth fighting for Maz.

Too late, they've bled me dry :(

Actually it paid off the mortgage :)

The moral of the story is fight fight fight, they usually refuse at first ;)

Thanks for your advice Eric. I take a multivitamin supplement everyday so will hopefully be ok on the calcium front. TBH I'm surprised I've not lost weight form being dairy free, as I used to eat lbs of cheese on jacket potatoes etc. It makes sense when you say it has opiates. Its certainly one food that I was really out of control with.

Hi Foxy-Roxy, my PCOS gives me acne, and the lovely apple shape with weight round the middle. I also get AWFUL pmt if I have too much caffeine and don't religiously take my B vitamins and Agnus Castus. Thankfully I don't get some of the more serious symptoms, and hopefully when Mr Right turns up everything will work properly for me to have babies. How about you?
