Thanks everyone
It's not so obvious to see in me I guess cos there's still a lot to come off, but the numbers are def coming down so that's all that matters.
It'd be much easier to see if the boobs wentI've come down a good 5 clothes sizes everywhere (meaning arms/shoulders/stomach and also in trousers) but there! so I'm having to wear the size I was in tops and they either hang off me everywhere but there - or occasionally don't even fit in the bigger size I was (which smarts the most :rotfl: ) but I know it'll all be worth it in the long run :rotfl:
Well done to you all, you sound like you're doing amazing! :T
Huge hugs NMSHope you're feeling better xxx

I am also looking at losing weight now that my children are both at school and I have some more time to spend on myself. I am hoping to find some support on these forums and to keep my motivation. I want to keep cooking nice big healthy meals for my family and to eat the same as them at family mealtimes but to cut down at other times. I am looking at some meal replacements at the moment because I can do this in daytime and still eat the same at night. Any good suggestions?0

I tried slimming world a while back and it did work for a bit but i piled it on again - prob my own fault tho. I'm trying some different meal replacements at the moment to see which i like and keep me full. I find it easier to have a certain amount i can eat rather than cooking and counting calories for every meal. Love all the information and advice on here, this is exactly why i joined up. thank you.0

yep dont use meal replacements, especially if it reduces your cal intake too much which results in lean muscle loss
ironically you need to eat a reasonable amount to loose weight
there are plenty of natural low calorie foods, veg, salad, lean protein that can fill you up without the need to "drink" a meal0 -
Hi, has anyone done this diet before, and does it work? I started yesterday having a 45g bowl for my breakfast, and a 45g bowl for lunch 2 apples as snacks one morning, one mid-aft and a healthy lasagne for tea.
Ive put on like 2 stone in the past few months and some of my clothes are starting to be rather tight, so i really want to lose some weight quickly, thought this would be good to follow, im struggling with excercise as im having a few health probs atm sore back, and a weird sensitivity on my skin (so sore i cant even rub my arms to brush something off like crumb etc) so jumping about trying to exercise is agony, and ive got really sore muscles im under a specialist who is doing tests to find out whats wrong though.
so if anyone has done it how much did you lose, and do you recommend it, Thanks!0 -
Hi
I did this diet plan, I started it in April and am still following it to an extent now. I have 30g for breakfast, 30g for lunch and a recipe from their website for tea and I lost 3 stone in 5 months, went from a size 12 to a size 8. I have been exercising as well but haven't felt hungry at all and have had loads of energy. It is now mor of a lifestyle choice than a diet for me.
Good luck with it!!

wow thats brilliant well done, is the recommended allowance 30g or 45g? i couldnt work it out id be starving off 30g lol im normally a size 8 on top with a very flat belly but ive got into a size 10 with a tyre of fat! and on the bottom im usually a size 12 but im now more a large 14 and i feel so uncomfy in my skin and in my clothes so hopefully this will work, i do plan on using it longterm too0

Hi!
I think 30g is the recommended portion, it's the amount that all the nutrional information on the box is done in (ie 30g serving with semi-skimmed milk) so I took it from there!
I didn't intend doing it long term when I started as I thought I'd be starving but I just wasn't, it really surprised me cos I used to eat loads!
I was the same as you, I was always petite but had put on quite a bit of weight over quite a long time so hadn't really noticed it, but now when I look back at photos from earlier this year I can't believe how much I had put on! I find this plan really easy to follow, rarely have snacks (occassionally I'll have grapes or cherry tomatoes if I feel I need something) and if I have chocolate cravings I have an 'Options' hot chocolate! I've alos cut out fizzy drinks as I used to drink a lot of coke. I still have a glass of wine or two at the weekends but my food is always healthy. All my evening meals are home made from scratch and are mainly things like chilli, bolognaise, pasta bakes, lasagne, omlettes etc and I always fill half my plate with salad which I eat first! I just feel so much better about myself now and my skin, hair, nails and everything are much nicer! I've been following the plan for 6 months and I tried to have a chinese take away a couple of weeks ago and didn't enjoy it at all, I think I've just gone off of unhealthy food, it made me feel awful and I was thirsty for about 3 days afterwards!!
I found the Special K website really useful for recipes and support and I also found that keeping the food diary kept me focussed! I've been recommending this diet to everyone! If you like I can send you the link to my story on the website, with before and after pics, just PM me if you'd like to see!!
Good luck!

I allowed my weight to slip over the period of a few years, and decided the cereal diet was the way forward - I dropped 3 stone in 3 months being very strict with myself. [However, I'm 6foot4, so 3stone represented ~20% of my body weight]
I ate Fruit'n'Fibre as I preferred the bran and dried fruit elements; basically a small bowl for breakfast and lunch. I took a multi-vitamin tablet with the lunch portion, and ensure I had a rounded meal for dinner.
I made sure I ate early (around 6pm), then took a brisk ~30-45min walk after dinner. I took heightened cardio exercise 3 times a week for one hour.
I had absolutely no snacks between meals, and nothing after my dinner in the evening. If I felt hungry in the evening I'd drink a pint of water.
It wasn't easy, but worked rather well. That was over a year ago, and I'm happy to report I have no regained any weight. However, I'm far more strict with myself regarding portions of food and inter-meal snacking -I keep that to a minimum.
Also worth nothing that I didn't really reduce my alcohol intake (there's only so much I'll give up!!), although I'm not a particularly heavy drinker.
Hope that helps.Legal team on standby0 -
Thanks guys, yeah id love to read your story on the special k website
Im one who piles on portions like if i have pasta i have enough for about 4 people as i love pasta! i had lasagne last night with 2 sheets of lasagne, normally i have 4 sheets a serving but i was full with 2 sheets, i didnt have any cheese sauce on the top either i used a tomato and veg sauce and i got a really low fat soft cheese with chives from aldi and some fresh spinach and put the spinach cheese mixture in the middle it was lovely, i had that with some cucumber and celery mixed with a little mint sauce, and my boyfriend had lots of lovely garlic bread which smelled amazing! lol im trying to have mainly veg to fill me up, im veggie anyway so i dont eat much fat anyway, andi dont get any through meat and i also dont eat fish, so mainly quorn and veg based dishes anyway. My bad habits were snacking on crisps and biscuits and eating way too much cheese, cream and butter in my main meals plus eating enough for like 3-4 people lol hopefully i'll lose as much as you guys have
I also used to drink fizzy pop with my tea ive now exchanged that for either water, or water with a tiny drop of orange squash as i hate water!0
