sorry not had time to read the thread for a couple of days as so busy at work
hope everyone is ok and i promise to read later
i just wanted to ask , i take an atkins bar to work as i dont have a designated lunch time so just tend to eat at my desk , i always want something sweet that is easy to eat and the atkins bars are great for that, but they are sooooooooooooo expensive . does anyone know of an alternative bar or HM version??
Hi sistercas, I just asked the same thing further up ( I know you haven't read it yet), but glowgirl pointed out that H&B do a cheaper version of them.
I just discovered the atkins ones myself in Boots last night, got excited until I seen the prices, I bought a box of 5 snack bars cost over £4.00:eek:
and a brownie bar - twas yummy but at £1 something not something I would buy regulary.0 -

sorry for repeatingfunny how great minds think alike
I looked in H and B yesterday and didnt see anything , do you know what they are called?0 -
Holland & Barrett are having a 'buy one, get one half price' offer on atm so a good time to stock up on stuff. :j
I'm another one that uses mouth spray, just check that it's sugar free, but I think most/all are anyway. I need it today, I've got lcing and garlic breath!!
Sunny, thanks for the vits info, I was thinking of just going into H&B while the sale is on & splurging on stuff. I'm just worried I forget to take them & then I've wasted my money, tightwad that I am!!0 -
Can I just say, be hugely careful with those Atkins bars. THey really upset my stomach. Never, ever eat more than one. Unless you are very close to a loo.0

Afternoon everyone,
instead of the atkins bars could you try something else sistercas, do you have a fridge at work that you could pop a sandwich box in? if not what about a small cool bag with a cool block inside?
You could take a cooked chicken portion or a tasty omelette made with peppers and slice it up and eat it cold. Very tasty too and far better.
I like to take chunks of cheese and chopped up salami in a yogurt sized pot and eat them at my desk at work.
Similar sized pot with strawbs and cream is a nice treat too - makes you feel like you`ve had something special rather than missed out and eaten for the sake of it. Maybe even a cold slice of cauli pizza would work too.
I`m a real sucker for cold chopped sausages in a pot of garlic mayo
I`m off to chop some cheese now
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

sunny they are really good ideas , we do have a fridge at work , I suppose i need to be more organised and prepare something to take , I like the omelette idea and the strawbs, I always want something sweet so i cud make s f jelly in indiviual pots - thanks :T
just made a cauli pizza base , looks good so far ( squeezed the cauli out in the ricer- worked a treat - thanks Alias ) and used grated chedder as i didnt have mozzerella and threw in some dried mixed herbs ,
let you know what its like later ( holding together so far)
I have made a chocolate pudding that butterflybrain posted on old style for later, double cream cocoa powder( i didnt have any so i have used an ounce of co-ops mint dark chocolate) vanilla essence and splenda ( forgot to put splenda in):o
its just chilling in the fridge for tea time0 -
well the cauli pizza was a success :j
I only made a small one and put plenty of dried mixed herbs in the base , topped it with tomato puree, chorizo and chedder- it was yummy
my chocolate pudding didnt setmaybe i should have whipped the cream before i put melted choc into it , i ate it though and it tasted lovely ( i dipped some strawberries into it
)
I have saved a slice of pizza to take to work tomorrow and some sf jelly whipped with double cream0 -
Sorry....sorry...sorry...I've had no sleep and my insides are churning. I know I keep talking about the same thing and you lot must be bored hearing about it but I'm nervous and need to rant to get it out my system. If you could all collectively will the adjuster to a) be a nice person and b) be fair, I'd be very grateful. You have to keep doing it between 9am and 1pm though cos that's as much as he's narrrowed it down for me.
Feel a bit sick and definitely have no appetite. Wonder if I could bribe him to come back every day, lol.Herman - MP for all!0 -
