phew - glad to hear they have cleaned up their act or i would of had to of thrown away alot of food!
IAMS parent company is Proctor and Gamble so they are not an ethical brand: marginally better than Purina/ Felix which are all Nestle brands.Don't throw anything away though as that is just a waste of money, it would be like just making a donation to P&G.

Funnily enough my older cat gets diawahwah with Iams too, cause I got a free sample bag and it didn't agree with her.
I had mince out earlier, a lot of it as batch cooking, anyways they were both round my legs purring and the kitten was jumping up and down like a jack in the box, so I rolled the mince into meatball shapes and started pinging them across the kitchen floor, was funny because the older one was trying to scoff as quickly as she could as he has a bad habit of devouring his and then pushing her out the way to get hers, but because it was ball shaped he was torn between batting it around and eating it, he took turns in licking and whacking.0 -
aww cute!!
i've just been told i can pick up the hand reared kitten i've been waiting for tomorrow and shes been feeding it uber expensive kitten pouches but didnt say what  i cant afford expensive kitten food pouches so he can be well and truly phased off them methinks! god knows how i'm going to feed the baby without the monster stealing it all, and theres nowhere to keep the baby and the monster seperate either cos the house is all open plan except the bedrooms and i'm not risking it "going" under the bed!! oh dear!!Mummy to

Hahahaha, if you put a litter tray in the bedroom and leave him to settle in he won't (probably) pee in your bedroom. That's where I kept my kitten for a couple of days before letting them mingle, still hated each at other at first and the kitten is most deffo the boss, until they fight, they he gets his bum kicked!
How old is the new kitty?0 -

Could you feed the kitten in your bathroom?Presumably you have a door, and most modern places have washable floors in case of food spillage (or accidents)? If you have space you could also put your second litter tray in there, but not close to the food obviously! The two cats do need to be introduced slowly so Buttonmoons idea about the bedroom is very sensible.

i am dubious about the whole litter thing cos of him being hand reared, as usually the mummy cat does the training, but obviously in this case it hasnt happened! i am going to put a litter tray in the bathroom in case he gets caught short upstairs, but i cant keep the baby one in there cos there isnt a window and i'd feel cruel keeping him in the dark, and there isnt a way of switiching off the stupid extractor fan which eats the electric! going to have a sort out of what will (one day) be my sons bedroom, cos theres still bin bags full of clothes he's grown out of and toys etc that i dont want him getting into. the monster weed and pooed on bin bags in the bedroom when we first got him and i dont want to risk this one doing the same! then i will keep him in there for a couple of days.Mummy to

Where to site a litter tray is always a nightmare!! You need two litter trays for two cats anyway, some don't like to go where another has so you will be much more likely to have an 'out of tray experience'. If you use the same litter as the kitten has now and show him where it is a few times he should be able to find it from smell and memory. Noah found his tray by smell as soon as he did his first foray from hiding in a cardboard box as it was the same litter. If you can put a babygate at the top of the stairs/ entrance to a room many cats/ kittens won't try to get past it. Sorry if you already know all this stuff, there is loads of advice on new cats/ kittens on the Purrs website if not.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

agreed, this should be standard. Or even one per cat and a spare. That said, mine go to the loo together, like girls in a bar/restaurant. I had two trays, and one was just unused where ever we put it, which suits me fine.0 -
I only have one litter tray for my two
I found they kept going in after each other anyways, and avoiding the other tray, or using both but they wouldn't use the clean one if the other one was dirty, they'd use the dirty one? It's very large anyways.

That's fine, you gave yours two trays and it wasn't used so now you know it isn't required. But some cats do only 'go' in their own tray, some like to pee in one and poo in another, sometimes a bully cat will block one tray ... I'd rather start with two trays and work down as you did, than clean poo out of my cream rug!!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
