What, 6%? Surely not! Fingers crossed. Where did you hear about a double bonus?

Sorry to disappoint you, I meant the 1.5% cashback being doubled up for three months :o
Fiscal drag, that's my problem. Too many people dragging on my fiscals.
  • As far as I know the cashback is 3% as standard.

Hard to believe that it will stay as standard for very long though!

When I applied a couple of months ago its was 3% on food/fuel purchases and 0.5% on all other purchases, no mention of bonus or time limits. Also, I think there was a maximum limit of £5000 for the food/fuel purchases attracting the 3%. Presumably at some point they will get their software sorted out and stop paying 3% on everything. To be fair they should also be able to correct any overpaid cashback;) . If they do I still think 3% on food/fuel up to £5000 is a dam good deal:T .

Looks like the deal may have changed then, the current reward tiers are:

    £0 - £3,500 gets 0.5% cashback,
    £3,501 - £10,000 gets 1%,
    > £10,000 gets 1.5%.

Not as good, put better than a poke in the eye.

Where did you get this information? As a card holder, I have not been told anything different from the 3% on petrol/groceries, 0.5% on everything else. The terms you quote are identical to AMEX Platinum...

If you are talking about the card this thread is about, the GE Money Everyday Card, please post the source for your information. Thanks.

    Just checked here.

Yes the original deal has now expired but as I have had no notification of any changes I think those who got a card on the original deal will still get the 3% until told otherwise.

Ah yes, apologies for the confusion. It is indeed the Amex card conditions I am quoting from.

  • I subscribed to GE Money 5 weeks ago with a balance Xfer but to date I have had an invoice from them & a PIN but no card & I just cannot connect to their Customer Services.

I managed to connect to their 'new business' within 2 minutes with a promise of a call back but have been left holding on & then had my connection dropped a dozen times; I've written a letter to their complaints department & refused to make any payments until my questions have been answered.

The only contact I've had from them is via email for questions I didn't even ask!

    Not happy.

I have had my card since June and have received the 3% cash back on all purchases so am quite happy to take this until they sort themselves out.
However, although I have always found the staff on the 0208 181 0000 line really helpful when talking to you, promises made do not appear to be carried out.
I have an intermittent problem when paying on e-bay, sometimes OK other times rejected. GE say nothing shown on system and they will investigate but it is still happening. Also, asked for increase to credit limit and was promised a reply next day but no contact.
It is interesting that each month now GE is "clarifying" one or other of their conditions. They really do not give a very professional image and I think that is enforced by not having internet access to our accounts - although they say they have been working on providing this sometime soon.
I think we just have to watch the future developments and be prepared to move cards if everything goes pearshaped.
