BME is the best site ever when it comes to piercings. You can even read some of my experiences on there!arkonite_babe wrote:Funny enough thats the site I found earlier tonight after reading this thread :rotfl:Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Just coming in on this thread.
My DAD had his ear pierced about six months ago at the age of 58. A friend of a friend needed some practice so he volunteered!! He now has another one in the same ear, done by the same person.0 -

At a proper piercers a standard piercing will be 1.6mm. Possibly 1.2mm but never as small as 1mm.
Stretching isn't really my thing but I have a few friends with 24-30mm tunnels and one with a 38mm.
BME has some good (but very USA-centric) info, but a lot of stuff on there is just kids mouthing off unfortunately :<ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
I had mine pierced this year, and I am 72. Having a lot of fun wearing drop ear rings, but find it difficult sometimes to see where I am inserting them ! Go for it, cost about £15 [ a christmas present]0

I'm at the other side ofthe scale. I had mines done when I was six weeks and I had my daugther's done at the same age too.
I remember pleading with my mum to let me get a second hole done as a 13-year0ld and she refuse point blank so (I'm not recommending this) I did myself.
I cleaned my ears with dettol, numbed my ears with ice and heated a needle on the stove - voila second hole!!
I have two more by the time I was 20 and now I have disowned all three!!
I envy yous who managed without a pierced ears for so long.
Because of what my mum did, I would never leave out without a pair of earrings on I feel naked
PS My tomboy daughter refuses to wear earringsThird time lucky on WW I hope :j

Savvy_Sue wrote:Hi guys and girls, I haven't had it done yet. I still can't decide if I want to or not. Doesn't help that DH is cool about the idea. I think he can, intellectually, see the difference between a discreet (or not so discreet!) pair of earrings, and full pierced body armour plus a tasteful tattoo or two. But emotionally, he still wonders why anyone would want to do ANY of that.
 I'm not really sure I wanted to know that! :rotfl:
Well Sue, have you had your ears pierced yet???0 -
