TBH, I'm not sure I do ... :rotfl:

I mean, each to his own, but the thought of getting a piercing anywhere other than my earlobes just turns my stomach! Colleague has a tongue stud, and every time I see it I just think "that must just be SO uncomfortable!"

But I wouldn't dream of saying so ...

Is there any truth in the story that having your ears pierced in later life improves a mans virility.....................i mean...do you need them pierced every time you need a bit more lead in your pencil...................and also do you have enough time to get home before the effect wears off...............
    Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!

    :rotfl: Never heard that one!

If you're that desperate, you could ask your beloved to get a sterilised needle and a bit of cork, which as you can see from earlier in this discussion is the cheapest way of doing it!

no problem so far hadn't seen this posting till after the event so I am glad I went ahead as might have had me worried am 60 plus and have a lovely pair of earings to wear at a wedding in sept.
  • Well Savvy Sue have you done it yet? I know you will not regret having your ears pierced and I'm sure if you involve your husband with the after process, by letting him turn the studs, he'll like it too.
My wife had her ears pierced in a jewellers shop over 30 years ago, it was done by some plunger device - the Simplicity method I think it's called then sleepers were put in. I love her having pierced ears and she likes to have me put sleepers in her ears and turn them. She has never regretted it and wears earrings every day, my regret is that I didn't know her when she had them done as i find ear piercing fascinating. She does not want another hole and that's fair enough, even when our daughter had hers done by the gun and stud method, she didn't feel the urge to get pierced again. Our daughter had no problems with her studs and looked after her ears properly
Check out the shops, if they just sling the gun in a basket and don't wear gloves, then steer clear.
Go for it - let us know

I was wandering past a tattoo parlour earlier today and thought about it again, but I confess I am backing out a bit. DH is not wildly enthusiastic about it, and my ears have been a bit 'funny' just lately, not sure I can cope with piercings AND my hearing aid at the same time ...

Also realised that dangly ones would probably be audible with my hearing aid in! :rotfl:

Never thought about this before :D . As a dedicated dangly ones wearer - never heard a jingle, tinkle, rattle or clatter from any of them in either of my ear trumpets. Go on, go for it - live dangerously :T
