Equigas

Have just done yet another comparison and Equigas is still coming out as the cheapest by a long way.

My only query is that as they charge a flat rate of 1.94 for gas right across the board, why isn't everybody with them? This is considerably cheaper than all of the big players.

Please does anyone have any experience of Equigas? Is there some awful hidden catch in switching to them for gas?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Many thanks.

I've been with equigas for over a year now - it's actually a scottish & southern account you open with a special 'equigas' tariff. I've had no problems at all with them. They bill on time and you can sign up with scottish & southern so you can submit meter readings online etc.

Only caveat would be that they're absolutely bound to raise prices at some point during this year and it's almost certain to be quite a hefty rise as they've not passed on the last couple of increases AFAIR.

As always, others MMV but I'm happy where I am.

Equigas + Equipower rises will allmost certainly come in September but I will be willing to place a fair bet on them still being the cheapest for gas AFTER the price rise.

    100% happy customer !

Did you have any problems switching to Equigas? I am very nervous about switching, have always been with BG, but am fed with their high prices!

I'm another big fan of Ebico. I switched to them with no problems, which was a relief after 3 nightmare switches in 2.5 years. I love the fact I am on a quarterly bill that I pay as it arrives using internet banking. Even if their prices rise and they are no longer the cheapest I will stay with them.

Recently moved to EBICO, no problems. Took six weeks, but they kept in touch during that period, and they also do a CARELINE service for old and disabled.Yet to get last bill from Powergen but it would not normally have been here until end of May anyway. The direct debit to EBICO has been adjusted to meet their lower charges, they did the calculation and they have my bank details from Powergen.
    Seamless transfer.

Ive been with them for almost a year now, had no problems at all,I Think a lot of people are just scared of moving to a new supplier they don't know much about, They seem to stick to old names like British Gas, N.Power, Powergen, etc..............I'm sticking with Equigas for both mine (gas/ elc).
    VERY PLEASED WITH MY BILLS.

Have been with Equigas for about 6 months. The actual switch process went OK although at times it seemed like nothing was happening. All of the admin is contracted out to their agents (Southern Electric in my case) and you deal with the agent, not Equigas. The bill also comes from the agent but with Equigas prices and you can just pay for what you have used when the bill arrives. Monthly Direct Debit not essential.

Is that right you don't have to sign up to a direct debit? Sounds really good and I would rather pay when the bill arrives. Do they charge you more for this facility than if on direct debit?
