No, thats how it will go, the liquid turns to a jelly, and any fat will be on the top!!!! When you warm it through, it will turn back into a liquid.0

If you want to, you can skim off the fat as it will have risen to the top & solidified.0

Don't be so soft in future :rotfl:
It always goes like this but it turns back to liquid when it's heated. You can take it from the fridge and microwave it without looking at it if it upsets you that muchJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
They often use chicken stock when making pork pies because it gels, so if you have ever eaten a pork pie,you have eaten chicken stock in this state anyway.0

Sounds like good stock to me, that's exactly what it should look like.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0

Have you never eaten consomme? A stock that gels when it cools means it's better not worse. A well made stock should gel!0 -
It's really easy to make pressed chicken with a bit of stock like this. Put slices/bits of chicken in a bowl, pour over a little stock, put a saucer on top and then a book or something heavy on top and leave in the fridge for a day. Lovely pressed chicken for sandwiches or salad!
