    Thank you Mark

I was upset to receive the Debt Recovery notice - it kind of threw me! I used to work in the Arrears Dept of British Gas many years ago. We would never have dealt with a customer so inefficiently - I just can't get over the incompetence!

    Hi jvol

I have just seen you post and would like to help with this. I can check to see why the cap has been added to your line and also can check to see if it has been removed. If you check out my profile section you will find my contact information, if you send me your account information and a link to this thread I will gladly look into this for you.

    Regards David

I've just seen this post - So, given that I had found your contact details and emailed my formal complaint, why is it that I still have had no response? I bought a BT Vision box in August for my partner to watch as he has leukaemia and is undergoing chemotherapy, and since then we've been able to watch 3 programmes on the On Demand service - at all other times we get a V04 error message. BT is passing this fault around to various different departments and we never get a response from any queries. The box is still not working, my broadband speed is virtually nil and the stress of these phone calls is driving us up the wall. Customer service?? Non-existent with BT.
  • .. and that's why the service remains diabolical.

I know its my own fault, once you have several domains web host call fowarding etc etc its not very easy to pack up and move with out interuptions to your buisness.
  • The trouble is that when you've not had a phone or internet for nearly 2 months you have to complain to somebody whether you get the response you want or not.

  • I've just gone through the mill with BT and the call centres and was completely unaware of this thread

So 2 years ago on this thread customers were finding a way into CEO's mail and getting immediate assistance but assuming that route would get closed..
Guess what, before finding this thread I'd found his Email on a website.
I got a reply in under an hour. It's been delegated but I've had 3 Emails and a phone call apologising and assuring me they now have control of my problem.
I just wonder what lessons they are learning from this endless feedback about call centres overseas

I know my subject header may seem a bit extreme but that is unfortunatley the conclusion I have come to.

We returned to BT on a phone and broadband package over a year ago. We recently found out that although BT requested a take over of our broadband from our previous provider, they did not do the same for the phone line. It transpired back in October that although we had been paying BT monthly, they were not in fact providing our phone service !!

I was assured that come the 13th of December when they did take over the line that I would be refunded, well the 13th of December came and went and thats when the fun really started !! All I am asking for is a refund of £86.00, which I believe in the circumstances is very reasonable. I was first offered £10 which quite frankly is an insult !

Since then I seem to have spent hours on the phone to BT, I have to explain the situation everytime I phone since you never get to speak to the same person in billing. On 3 seperate occasions now I have been assured that the money would be refunded into my bank account. I last spoke to someone in BT billing on December 23rd, I was again assured the £86 would be in my account within 24 hours, I pointed out the next day was xmas eve and was told it didnt matter as it was an automatic transfer.

Well here we are on December 29th and still no refund !! and of course I cant speak to anyone in BT billing as they are currently closed. I am beyond disgusted with how BT treat customers, I have been passed from pillar to post, told lies and wasted god knows how many hours chasing after a refund that should have gone into my account weeks ago !!

As far as I am concerned BT are liars.

    Rant over.
  • my sympathy mllgnc, I have spent an hour on the phone to BT to get charges refunded which should never have been put on ....this being the fifth or something like that call!!! each time assured it will be sorted...get an amended bill, and still not right!!!

The lady tonight seemed very helpful, but I'll reserve judgement till I see proof.....but I will not now get another bill till March...so a long time to wait!!

They really are a nightmare, quite shocking really from such a huge comapany !!

I also posted on the BT forum ( didnt realise they had one ) and I got a very swift response from a BT representative. Maybe you could post there too with your issue. If you put BT community forum into a search you should be able to find it.

    Hope you get sorted.
  • thanks, I may try that if its still a problem in March!!
