why is it chef's venture into rm
...OH was a chef too. I know a few posties who were chefs. Sorry Cissi....Chef's work damn hard and long long hours....you put the hours in cause it is your business, cause you want it to succeed and rightly so. Chef's put the hours in cause they have to, to get paid by someone else's business, it's the nature of the hospitality industry....longs hours in a hot kitchen mmmm not for me thank you...sorry I've digressed.
Back to RM....get rid of the dross, stop the execs bonuses...and get them to do a weeks work of the postie...maybe they should do an undercover thing! might open thier eyes a bit as to what the "worker" has to put up with! I bet not many rm exec would last more than 3 days in a normal depo doing a full walk and sort.
Said my peace. HP x
mine was food allergies,i was
fine dining up to michelin standard

I'm simply saying that my family and own employees have to come first,
Yes, that's the way posties feel too. I have to put my family first. Even if that means fighting to get a couple of pence pay rise... The health and safety aspects too, who's gonna feed my kids when royal mail have messed up my knees so bad that I can't work? Royal Mail? I don't think so somehow
                        4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Im not sure of the true reasons behind this action but if its down to rounds taking an extra half hour, heavy post bags etc then think yourself lucky in this climate you have got a job!
TBH ive no sympathy if the workers didnt keep loosing, damaging etc my mail I both send and receive then maybe I would have more sympathy for them.
Surely you dont have to strike if you dont want to?
All those people on the state would be grateful for these jobs!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Imagine how you would cope then when royal mail make redundancies from loosing so much business and your claiming JSA of £50-£60 a wk!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

lol loving the people who would take those jobs
well why dont they?
why do so many start and then drop out?
so the current climate means employees should accept anything from their employers?
way to keep dropping peoples quality of life :T0 -

on top of the 40,000 already gone in the last 2 years?
the constant drop in staffing already with leavers not replaced or replaced by part time to 0 hour contracts?
offices permanently understaffed and the staff taking up the slack whilst being told they have it easy as the 'mails down'0 -

Would you like to work an extra half hour every day without getting paid for it? or carry around more that 16kg and walk an average of 9 miles carrying it? Every day! through rail, hail, snow, wind and on the hottest of summers day? Yes, most posties are very grateful they've got a job in this current climate...they just wanted to be treated in that job as human instead of S*** on the bottom of some peoples shoes!
TBH ive no sympathy if the workers didnt keep loosing, damaging etc my mail I both send and receive then maybe I would have more sympathy for them. More mail gets damaged by machines and temp staff than your regular loyal postie!
Surely you dont have to strike if you dont want to? No, you don't...they also lose a days pay so most of them who do strike don't do so lightly
All those people on the state would be grateful for these jobs! Yeah...if only they could be bothered to get up, go out and find the job in the first place! (sorry not tarring all with the same brush)
Did I get in before you custardy? lol :rotfl:DEBT FREE DATE: 05/02/2015!Those things in life that we find the hardest to do, are the things we are the most thankful we did.0 -

Yes, but would you be so keen to struggle in all those ways if it was a normal job? What I'm getting at here is that you work for youself, the potential for earnings is not regulated by someone else, the posties however are working hard for a fixed wage- completely different. To be honest: as I see it I'm the customer here, and a very good one at that, having had at least a hand in keeping our local post office open in the latest closures (together of course with a number of other similar businesses). As an entrepreneur I don't have (nor do I expect) job security. I and my family have made a lot of sacrifices over the past couple of years, including risking our own hard-earned savings to pay for stock, not taking a salary while building the business from scratch, working ALL hours (late evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays).
For us any threat of going elsewhere would be an empty one- no-one delivers the sizes we send, certainley not for a price we could pay.
As they always do businesses will adapt however they can- but I doubt long term this will make that much difference. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.
