I bought and sold hamsters for a 100% profit after E-Bay and Paypal fees.

It'll pay towards my kids xmas presents and I sure as hell didn't get rich doing it.

does anyone else get the norad santa tracker up? we load it up every christmas eves its wonderful the kids love it for those of you who havent heard of it,its an american mility base that tracks santas journey through christmas eve throughout the world with videos and updates as he goes on his travel its very good and my kids love it

i remember 2 years ago one christmas we were all in the house the norad tracker was up and we kept going back to check on it whilst clare was making warm cider punch in the kitchen the warm scent of spices and apples were wafting through out the house and i thought it would be a nice idea to make some eggnog it always looks so tasty on the american films any ways followed the instructions and kids were looking forward to it poured the kids a glass each and one for myself kids took a sip smelt ok then all of a sudden they went rushing for the loo lol i took a sip and did the same it was awful lol never again now every year i wind the kids up and tell them im going to make a lovely batch of eggnog  lol
  • My daughter got the house and 1 hamster for her birthday this week.

She played with it on Tuesday evening and has not touched it since, it is just sitting on the front room table. I'm quiet disappointed!

Now, I've spent ages online and going out looking for these flamming accessories, even my aunt in America is phoning Wal-mart eveyday, my mum is thinking of ordering from Argos in Spain and one of the mums from the school is looking for me. I will probaby be at TRU at 9am tomorrow too.

Half of me feels after all this effort I need to get something to add to it, even if its just me that feels satisfied by finallly getting it. The other half of me thinks why do I bother, she's not playing with it.

The problem now is that it is not just resellers like those who bought thousands of wii's a few years back and sold high on ebay. Obviously most families couldnt afford to buy in bulk. The problem with the go go go is that its a fairly attractive reasonably priced toy.

Its a vicious circle. Parents buy extra to sell on to get more money for more presents at xmas. Maybe they can't afford much otherwise.

I live in a fairly low income area (especially in the recession) and every year at xmas we always list loads of books/cd's/dvd's/last years toys etc etc on ebay to raise more funds.

In principle I do have an understanding that someone will buy something for their family and then consider buying one more to sell on ebay to help pay for the original toy if they know they can get more money on ebay. I can understand that.

What I don't like is that person not buying one or even two but clearing the whole shelf in sheer greed and selfishness.

I then object to that person putting them on ebay with a buy it now or starting price of over 3 times the value of the recommended retail price.

It is a man made problem that has turned into a viscous circle. The less stock in shops or online because people have bought more than they need so they can resell on ebay means that desparate parents are forced into a corner where they feel they have to pay the high prices on ebay because they know stock is scarce in shops and online.

Without the greed there would be no need for people to be in this position in my humble opinion.

  • I also agree with funny onion. I think it's fine for one or two but for people to buy up 40+ items is wrong
