Lets all take a minute to think about those who have been flooded out of their homes today. My son in law is with the coastguard and is out there now helping to airlift people out of thier homes in Cumbria. Makes looking for hamsters pale into insignificance :-(

You are so right. Those poor people losing everything just before christmas.
  • one last quick question before I sign off for the night, has anyone managed to get through to the Preston TRU and see what they are getting in tomorrow? Not sure if I can bothered dragging the baby up there for nothing when the weather is so bad out there. Been trying to ring them all day and no one ever answers.

Hi everyone. I've not gone back through all of the posts but it seems that some have been lucky, others not.

When I got in earlier I had lots more requests to join the ebay group, thank you. Over a hundred like minded people in their, swapping and selling at cost to help others.

I went in Tesco's and asked again about the hamsters. None on the shelves and none that they know of. The manager did however agree to my demands for when I next visit and will duly be furnishing the aisles with white kittens and pink carpets.

I applied to join the group a few days ago but wasn't let in :(
  • Am completely addicted, have cracked and bought house off ebay for 33!! But DH went to Tesco this am as said were having a delivery, didn't get there in time, but his friend did, there was a shelf full but he only bought one - even though we have 2 kiddies! They are supposed to get another delivery of just hammies tonite - my DH has been loitering in the aisles for the last 40mins awaiting delivery lorry - which is running late - then to amazement spied a reduced hammie (box is damaged) in bargain basket - we now have CHUNK with a damaged box, but didn'tbuy it for the box - so relieved just need to get car slide and ball etc ........the hunt goes on:j

I think its wrong to limit to one per customer on the hamsters and still charge p&p, there are 4 hamsters most kids want more than one, and the whole playset is better with more hammies, I can understand limiting the add ons but the hamsters should be limited to at least 2... or they should offer free p&p, just makes it even harder to get kiddies what they want, its bad enough you can't choose a hamster without having this much hassle buying them, a bulk seller is not going to want 2 or 4 if they are trying to make a living.

Why is it wrong? You don't have to buy from them. Unlike many places, they aren't whacking the price up, and you can get it delivered to a shop or buy other stuff for free p & p.

Arggggggggggghhhh really furious - toysgamegifts confirmed my order for the house, paypal money was taken - only to be told I have just been refunded because the stock is not available - GREED - they should not be allowed to do this

Why greedy? You've got your money back. Bad practice, yes. But given the huge demand for them, understandable how it happened (bloody irritating, of course!)

  • Greedbay is getting worse with a pink carrier and blanket rrp £4.99 newly listed for £19/99 plus £1/99 postage.

    Depressing isn't it?

I still think that there would have been plenty to go round in shops and online if ordinary people hadn't deliberately bought to sell on.

I wish the tax office would step in and go through the ebay auctions and spot the sellers who are clearly selling lots of go go hamsters but are not registered as a business.
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.
