    all hunting the hamsters!
  • just had a close look at my amazon order and it says my order is being prepared and cannot be canceled so that looks promising :)
  • I repeat .. if people order, but then can't pay at despatch, then that stock will be released.

Hi Liz, do you meant that if people click on it to buy it but then don't follow the payment through these hamsters are out of the loop for awhile until play.com take them out of the persons basket and place back on sale?

Sorry for sounding a bit thick! Well, a lot thick probably!
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.

to grab ppl's money i guess. its a sleazy tactic

They cant be doing it for that reason because they dont debit your card until dispatch.
  • anyway I've had it with play.com as I picked up a Chunk in Argos this morning!! :j Asda Bedminster (Bristol) have a few hamsters, nothing else tho. Going to cancel my order; i reckon this is why their stock listings are so erratic - people order, cant wait - find elsewhere, then cancel.
  • oh thats ok then. congrats to those who grabbed the play.com ones.

the manufacturers must be totally raking it in and working production at full steam! wonder if they anticipated it to be THIS BIG :j

i remember when the tmx elmo was the hot toy 2 years ago.
  • got my 3 hamsters from character this morning :P Thaks for the info everyone - just need Squiggles now

What I mean is that some people probably ordered a month ago.

Play's order process would have verified that funds were available at that time and reserved those funds for a few days at the bank. That's normally enough time to process an order.

However, the extended delay means that Play's reservation of card funds will have expired and the card owner may have maxxed out their card now.

Therefore no payment means that Play will cancel the order.

What happens short term whilst goods are in peoples order basket and through initial order will vary retailer to retailer, but I think that extended orders will work the same way with most.
