Still doesn't answer the question though if amazon had no stock last time and cancelled the orders, now they have or so they say and have let a load more orders go through, then what happens to the first lot in line, do they just not get them and the next lot do? If they had none then how come they have now?
The simple explanation could be that last week they didn't have any and were not sure if/when they were going to get more, so to avoid confusion, they cancelled the order.
Other retailers have been lambasted for sitting on orders and customers expected that they would eventually receive their order.
Amazon gave you clarity last week that you would need to go elsewhere. Things changed this week and they got more stock ... maybe from Character or maybe they shifted their own stock from the US ... who knows?
Added : Oh ... and if they just reactivated the cancelled order and shipped you a hamster on a cancelled order, then that could annoy people who had already bought elsewhere. Maybe not so bad for a hamster that can easily be moved on, but what it were something else? Opening up cancelled orders just doesn't have any chance of working ... though it might be nice if they emailed you to let you know that something cancelled has come back into stock
Surely it is a fine line and retailers will ultimately be damned if they do and damned if they don't cancel orders under those circumstances.0 -
