They had puffles in TRU at the weekend. My daughter has a couple. They also had about 10 different penguins as well. This was the TRU in Stoke on Trent but if they have them i am sure everyone of the stores should.0

I was feeling like a scrooge cos my kids only get one main present at christmas from santa, then a few smaller items from mom and dad with a stocking each.
After reading this thread I am feeling so much better and so privilenged to have well adjusted, grateful kids that understand the value of money and the importance of christmas. They enjoy making presents for money (visiting a pottery barn or baking biscuits). They love wrapping up presents and decorating the tree (I do not take it all down and redo it whilst they are asleep).
I can not believe how much some of you spend (or should I say get into debt) for your little dd and ds !!??. Teach them the value of christmas and more so the value of money for god sake. No wonder we are a nation of people that expect everything for nothing. !!!. If they want expensive electrical gadgets then make them earn them and see the reward in doing so. You have a responsiblity as parents to teach these kids to contribute to society !!
Excuse me but you do not know about and have no right to presume what my financial situation is - I would never get into debt for the sake of these hamsters. I am lucky enough to be able to afford them and it is MY CHOICE to get them. My kids have not demanded them - they have said they would like them - I have told them they can't have them as they are hard to find and they have other stuff that they have asked for.
My kids are well balanced, polite, and very well educated - they do not expect stuff and i have NEVER had to endure a tantrum from either of them in a store or anywhere else in public - they never demand stuff and don't cry if they don't get - they just accept.
I have chosen to treat them this year with this Hamster stuff. If you choose not to then fair enough but don't go preaching to me about the do and don't's of parenting.....:mad:Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):

I'm so sorry, I forgot that under each of our names it gave you a description of our kids and the values we teach them- oops sorry again as it seems that that info is not included and therefore you just assume how our kids are brought up. DD appreciates everything she receives and never demands anything and asks for very little. DH and I contribute over £20k a year in taxes to society and show a good work ethic to our child. We have no debt and tbh I think your comments are not only inappropriate but also unsubstantiated and unduly critical.
This in a polite way is me telling you to take a hikePlease remember to thank fellow MSE'rs :beer:0 -

Unfortunately I'm 30 miles away from one TRU, and an hours drive from the next nearest, so for a £5 item it's really not worth the time/effort/cost involved. As i say, should've got it earlier!0 -
yeah and let him inherit your attitude - thats enough to contend with.
I'd rather that attitude than your stuck up, know it all oneCost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):

do not assume the post was about you - what makes you the top of my hitlist.
You made me top of your hitlist with your presumptions, along with the majority of the board.Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
