Hi guys, I've been reading the hamster thread with much amusement!

I was lucky enough to purchase almost a full set in Toys R Us in October (only missing spiral slide and wheel) I only bought them cos the lady said they were going like hot cakes. I then decided that they would be a 5 minute wonder and only keep 2 hamsters and the beds and ball. I took the other stuff back not realising I could have made £ on ebay. Then my daughter tells me she wants all the hamster house etc so off I trawl on a mission to get them all. Thanks to lucky trips to Argos and Sainsbury's and Toys R Us I have the whole set excpet the sleep dome which I don't want. However I have told my daughter that Hamsters are sold out everywhere and Father Christmas is only giving the hamsters to the very best children as there are not enough to go around - I have the best behaved child on the planet lol!

I've got to say though that I would not go to the expensive of buying off ebay I would rather get my kids other things and tell them they don't always get what they want! (then surprise them at the end of Jan when they are back in stock!) After all succumbing to pressure from small children is not money saving!

Also be aware that dropping them is not a good idea - well not onto laminate anyway. DH dropped my sons second one (first one broke due to pixel malfunction) from knee height and it never worked again!!! Third one has lasted a year though (and much longer i hope!!)

hopefully in time for my younger lad's birthday in March. The DSi XL will have a bigger screen, 4.25 inches I think, and a bigger stylus more like a pen than a lollipop stick. I think the pricepoint will be similar to the DSi.

I wish they'd stop upgrading these things in such quick succession though, even going for an occasional upgrade rather than each new model that's brought out is expensive.

not hamster related.... but.....pop goes pig is available at 2 out of 3 of my local argos'

perhaps we're not as fast on the uptake as you lot waaaaaaaay up north!

Watch out they'll be all over the bay that begins with e by tonight!!

Would now like to find a wheel...... and then hopefully this hamster bug will be cured!!

Ugh, no fair!!! They are going for about £25 on Ebay with the infamous sold out everywhere tag line.

I'm looking in the the Stockport/Manchester area and can't find a single one!
