Hi guys, I've been reading the hamster thread with much amusement!
I was lucky enough to purchase almost a full set in Toys R Us in October (only missing spiral slide and wheel) I only bought them cos the lady said they were going like hot cakes. I then decided that they would be a 5 minute wonder and only keep 2 hamsters and the beds and ball. I took the other stuff back not realising I could have made £ on ebay. Then my daughter tells me she wants all the hamster house etc so off I trawl on a mission to get them all. Thanks to lucky trips to Argos and Sainsbury's and Toys R Us I have the whole set excpet the sleep dome which I don't want. However I have told my daughter that Hamsters are sold out everywhere and Father Christmas is only giving the hamsters to the very best children as there are not enough to go around - I have the best behaved child on the planet lol!
I've got to say though that I would not go to the expensive of buying off ebay I would rather get my kids other things and tell them they don't always get what they want! (then surprise them at the end of Jan when they are back in stock!) After all succumbing to pressure from small children is not money saving!I find this board makes me spend more than I save!:rotfl:0 -

edited cos it's not cheap anymore with shipping costs.0 -
I got my eldest's DS last year for £89 for Xmas so i would be shocked if they were still £99. It is a basic DS and not the DSi though - told him he is not getting that - there will soon be a new one out again to replace that i would imagine!!!
Also be aware that dropping them is not a good idea - well not onto laminate anyway. DH dropped my sons second one (first one broke due to pixel malfunction) from knee height and it never worked again!!! Third one has lasted a year though (and much longer i hope!!)
I'm holding out for the new DSi XL due in Spring 2010,

hopefully in time for my younger lad's birthday in March. The DSi XL will have a bigger screen, 4.25 inches I think, and a bigger stylus more like a pen than a lollipop stick. I think the pricepoint will be similar to the DSi.
I wish they'd stop upgrading these things in such quick succession though, even going for an occasional upgrade rather than each new model that's brought out is expensive.Remember...life is for LIVING:j:rotfl::A0 -

For anyone after Club penguin items, my son was really into Club Penguin last Xmas and they were going for crazy prices on Ebay. I ended up ordering mine from the US Disney Store. I bought the puffles, the card game and the DS game that hadn't been released here yet. I also bought quite a few other Disney things like clothing from the bargain outlet of their website. Shipping was pretty reasonable. They worked it out after you'd added stuff to your basket. I'm thinking mine worked out about £15 for everything, but like I say I ordered other things too as well as the 4 puffles, the card game and a DS game, and the exchange rate was probably better then.
I didn't have to pay customs but that seems to be a luck of the draw thing so you'd need to factor customs charges in too .
If anyone does want to order from there here's the website and look out for any discount codes on the website too.

Thanks, I'll take a look, but really only wanted one little puffle!0 -
