I am an ebay seller actually. Every year I buy toys from the top 10 list to sell on ebay 2 weeks before christmas in the hope of profiteering from it.

I do this every year and know i am not single handedly responsible for shortages.

I also go for auctions all starting at 99p, I let the buyers dictate the price.

Throughout the year, I also sell on ebay, usually things from the grabbit boards and hduk and some other private forums which tell you about misprices.

I do this because its the only way I could think of to work from home and be a stay at home mum. Im not rich but earn enough to raise my own children by myself. Regardless of whatever anyone things of sellers my reasoning totally justifies it to me. There is nothing and no one as important as my children and im not having them brought up by strangers.

I really do hope you all find whatever pieces you want, but I also think its all fair game with a bit of luck.

I appreciate your honesty as so will many others.

Don't take my post out of context as I appreicate that some people are in your position, I would not wish to be one to criticise honourable intent.

I myself have sold on ebay, often based on products I have bought at sub RRP and sell them at or around the RRP. Which I think is more than acceptable.

The argument made by others, is that profiteering, like we have at present, is acceptable, particularily for anyone disadvantaged. My point is that no matter what an individuals situation is, if they buy at RRP and try to sell over the RRP, especially at the levels we are seeing, they not only profit from those who can afford to pay more, they also force some who can't really afford to pay more, to also pay the inflated price. Either way it is wrong.

Anyone can also hide behind the attitude that they are not single handedly responsible for the shortgage etc. We are not just individuals we are a collective. It didn't just take one German to perpetuate two world wars did it.

Everyone can self justify their actions, but those who are in the wrong know who they are. I was just making the point that they well get their come uppance one day.

Ever thought about a job? Show your children what life is about? You must have some money to go out and buy these toys! Don't lay a sob story it's so so tedious. No-one should be selling these toys on eBay. Innocent parents have enough on their plates as it is without idiots using inflated profits instead of getting a job.

That is harsh .. buy lower, sell higher is the principle of any business model and whilst kids of Go Go Hamster age miught be a little young to see that, that indoctrination could be a springboard for another Alan Sugar or Richard Bryson ... they effectively started the same way.

I'd like to see you telling Alan Sugar to get a real job.

This is concerning - there seems to be a lot of stories about broken hamsters. Glad i have 2 Num Nums and 2 Chunks - seems we may get through them quickly.

Easier said than done if you bought them off ebay!!! LOL

Mind you I won't mind replacing the hammies - I think they will be easier to come by. And if they are really badly made then the whole lot can be re-sold!! :rotfl:

errm, I do have a job. Its called ebay. It wasnt a sob story either, it was an explanation. why would I need a sob story? Im just putting across my opinion and perspective.

I actually work very hard at ebay, as you can see, getting these toys is not always easy but at least I can do that and supervise my children myself. Life is too short, I want to spend every moment I can with my children, its not my fault if parents are happy to spend over the odds for their children. I dont dictate the price YOU DO!!
