morning guys how is everyone today im feeling a little better from the man flu lol.
its so sad to see people arguing on here it really is a great thread that has helped many people so lets not spoil it by bickering lifes to short and its nearly christmas yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippie
can i just comment on the whole ebay situ i am a self employed landscape gardener and work ruddy hard in the summer months my partner also works full time and we take it in turns to look after our 2 year old dd, anyways in the winter my work really dries up as no one is thinking about having their garden done so say for instance in the summer i work 4 days a week 12 hours a day and the other 3 days i look after my dd whilst partner goes to work she also works nights but during thw winter my work dwindles to less that 8 hrs a week and we really struggle so i use ebay quite a bit (not for selling hamsters i might add as ive worked to long and to hard to get the bits i have got for my 9 year old) but i pick things up from carboots and stuff, what im trying to say is without ebay we would really struggle at winter time) im not selling stuff to make a small fortune but just to help out with the bills a bit
yes i can see some people might try and grab everything off of the shelve to make as much money as they can profiting off of desperate parents but i believe like myself there are some genuine people out there that use ebay to help with daily life
(hands out the party poppers) and the mince pies we need another sing a long lol for all aqaintence be forgot la la la la la come on everyone hold hands lol0 -

I am absolutely gutted. I managed to add all 4 hamsters from Wilkinsons in my basket last night - 3 for my daughters and one for a friend. Then my internet connection slowed down and I couldnt even check out. One by one they all left my basket for other homes.
I have been hunting for weeks and this keeps happening to me, I have yet to successfully make a single purchase.
Good luck to everyone else. Now proud owner of Chunk, Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak & Num nums... 2 Funhouses (1 Thanks to my fairy godmother Hartyfd)
Still need 2 slides, 2 balls, 1 car & 1 wheel...xx0 -

Was thinking the same. I have a clothes shop on Ebay which used to provide me with a good source of income but, due to the economic climate, has barely broken even this year. I struggled to pay my tax bill last year and it just really peeves me when I see people who are obviously buying to sell, not registered as a business seller and getting away with it. I report such people a lot to Ebay but think action has been taken on around half a dozen out of hundreds.
Yawn................you only pay tax on what you earn. So you must have earned money. Try putting the money away in future...............and who says she isn't paying tax??? Sorry if this sounds harsh. See sig.
Lets move on from this ebay stuff!!Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
fair play to you. i admire you for being one of the few people nowadays that has children and actually wants to bring them up themselves. i think your kids will have a better start than most from having a loving entrepeneurial parent thats prepared to be there for them and work at the same time. i'd rather buy from you on ebay than pay 3* the rrp to a big company thats getting stock in at wholesale prices!
:T:T:T:T:T:T
I think there are many people that have the desire to bring their children up themselves and I think it's perfectly possible to combine parenthood with a job - be it working from home selling on ebay or not.
Personally I need to earn more than selling on ebay would bring me so I choose a paid profession with benefits like medical cover, paid holiday, bonuses etc...
I am lucky and also have the option to work from home occasionally but not everyone is as fortunate - I don't believe this makes them bad parents.
Anyhow regarding ebay -obviously the buyer drives the price - and the ebay seller does not force any parent to pay over rrp0 -

Opinion respected - my husband got made redundant about a year ago from a £50,000 a year job and now earns only £25,000 so not a penny to put away lol - always playing catch up on bills etc. Anyway I spent it all on bloody hamsters. Promise not to mention Ebay again lol.0 -
Back to the forum topic ......
Phoned Argos today and checked, re cars and lady said they have stock issue and should have had orders but none in...!0 -
Talking about profiteering. One company I was really surprised with was Hamleys. They were selling them at £14 then the price hikes to £19. That is in my opinion bad business!!Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
