As far as i know (i may well be wrong) the only sure fire way of winning a pay pal dispute is if you use Royal mail special next day delivery as there is electronic tracking and proof of sig.
Obviously the cost is prohibitive until you get to the £50 + .
I think the best way is similar to in USA where you can add insurance (roughly £1 for every £15 of goods). This way even if tou get scammed by the buyer through paypal, you can get your money back)"Weaseling out of things is important to learn. Well worn trainers with 'gay interest' written in the title seem to sell well on ebay!
yuk. I go through bouts of selling on ebay. Once a month I am involved in MDCC which is for charity but because of the high fees it isn't worth selling low value items anymore.Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -

I hope you are ready for the tomatoes
This is meant to be a convincing argument not to bother buying GGH and selling on Ebay!!:rotfl:"Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates man from the animals ...well except the weasel." - Homer J Simpson

my friend had some stockings that she had bought bopgopf. she wore 1 pair and they didn't fit right so the other pair she put on ebay along with some shoes, in a jokey manner. she was selling the shoes and she put on the auction she was throwing in a pair of brand new hold ups with the shoes. a man emailed her and asked her to wear the hold ups and take a photo of herself in them, but just from the ankle down, and send send them unwashed. she immediately removed the listing and took the shoes, AND stockings to the charity shop! :rotfl::rotfl::T:xmastree:0 -
You clearly have not had experiences like I have on ebay. Lucky you. Even Recorded delivery does not save you from paypal's inability to sniff out a chancer. I had a guy SIGN for his item, but because the signature could not be retrieved online, I rung RM and asked for apaper copy. I faxed it to Paypal, but they wouldn't accept it as it couldn't be retrieved online. I argued until I was sick that it wasn't MY Fault it wasnt recorded online, only on paper, but they still refunded the guy. Royal mail were not interested as they had a signature to prove the delivery! The police said it was a civil matter. hiding to nothing.
I list my stuff at a price I am prepared to accept. I list things when I am having a clear out of the toy box/wardrobe and the kids get the money from the stuff of theirs that is listed. It helps them to realise the value of money, they save up and buy things and sell things to aid their savings for holidays too. If something goes through at 99p, yes, a sale is a sale. IF it's on a level playing field. Tonights !!!! up on the software on ebay is a different matter. It wasn't a level playing field and I am pleased not to have had anything end tonight.
someone had a mr squiggles just go through at 99p with NO BIDS!!!!!!!!!
I agree, I think that people need to forget what people are selling, what the start price is, how many they are selling it's irrelevant, Tina is right it wasn't a level playing field.
I wasn't buying or selling tonight and rarely do either, when I do sell I want the best price, and when I buy I want a bargain of course, but if a glitch alters the playing field in favour of one side then that's not fair.AKA: PC

I was a bit naive when I first started selling on ebay. I got my son to photograph me wearing a coat or a top etc which I was selling and got some very odd messages via ebay. One person asked if I could supply them with more photo's of a top but would I raise both my arms above my head for the photo! bizarre!
I now do not model any clothing for auctions.
One of the funniest auctions I ever saw was when I was looking for a party dress for my daughter and there was a lovely pink frilly dress being modelled by a very sullen looking boy. The seller wrote that she was very sorry about the picture but her daughter had outgrown the dress but her son fitted in and had VERY reluctantly modelled it. Priceless!Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -
It is the weirdest thing about ebay. I've sold some lovely expensive stuff at almost a loss and then we list some tat and are amazed by the final fee.
I sold the 1st 6 seasons of CSI for about £15.75 + £10 P&P
All watched once in excellent condition must cost me £180.
Then I put my mums old fashion sideboard on for local pick up only (which limits the audience). It was an ugly big mahogany thing but sold for £95.
Didnt think she'd give it away.
SOld 20 year old carebears for about £15.00 each but lost about 90% on some year old sylvanian families stuff.
