Ha ... Well, the tempura could have been lighter. And some of the hand rolls with chopped tuna had a wee bit too much wasabi (ouch). But DS ate sweet potato, pepper, asparagus [batter will hide almost anything] and some seared tuna, for the first ever time. And DD ate her first seaweed quite happily, especially as she had assembled the smoked salmon balls filled with sushi rice. I guess that's a success for new-food-experiences if nothing else!

oops, my plan has changed already! Not vg at this meal planning thing

We had the slow roasted shoulder of pork last night(very very delicious-but the shoulder was very large-over 5kg, and I had to remove below the elbow joint so it could fit in roasting tray, so I have that frozen seperately), and have HUGE amounts of leftover pork(and I have 2x 750ml tubs of it shredded with gravy in the freezer too-hoping can use in a pie or pasta sauce), so amended meal plan is
Su-Lamb, leek and haricot bean stew (kitchen diaries)
Mo-crackling roast pork soup noodles with pak choi
Tu-Pork, brocolli and tallegio lasagne (from econ gastronomy-IF i can find tallegio, if not will be gruyere or similar, but would prefer tallegio-making two and freezing one of them)
Wed-(spicy/southern fried-well oven baked) chicken thighs, corn on the cob and wedges
    thur-brocolli, cauliflower macaroni cheese, salad
fri-Roasted salmon, parsnips, kale, and baked spuds
Sat-lamb mince stuffed peppers maybe, maybe away
  • I've been reading NualaBuala's fiver a week plan, and feel inspired so, can I please list mine this week too, writing it down here has helped me to stick to my plan in the past.

Sun: HM leek&tattie soup with rtc garlic and cheese flatbread,My adaptation (and my first ever attempt) Bubble & Squeak
Mon: HM Lasagne with actifry chips (already prepared and in fridge)
    Tue: Fully loaded Cauli cheese
Wed: HM Beef, bean & Pasta bake (already prepared and in freezer)
    Thurs:Sausage Casserole or maybe Stovies
Fri: My adaptation JO's Fish pie.
Saturday, I'll worry about that when it comes.

This is open to slight additions or variation, as and when I find stuff more desperately needing used up.
I already have everything I need for the week, except milk and fresh fruit.
Hubby's sandwich fillings will include, grated cheese and carrot, egg mayo, jam, hm Corned beef filler, tinned fish filler.

    Here's mine.

I have to confess though that the Moroccan Lamb Casserole & Cottage Pie are being made with packet mixes that I bought before I became 'converted' :o - they do need using up though so I'm consoling myself with the thought that I'm also being 'OS' :D

Sunday – Roast pork, HM apple sauce, cauliflower cheese, roast spuds, mashed carrots & parsnips & HM gravy

Monday – Butternut squash & bacon risotto with (hopefully) HM garlic bread

Tuesday – Moroccan Lamb casserole, cous cous & broccoli

Wednesday – Cottage pie & cabbage

Thursday – Soup & Beans on Toast with poached duck eggs on top

Friday – HM Chicken & Chickpea curry from freezer with rice & sour cream & Naan bread

Saturday – Chicken & Mushroom pasta bake

Have a fab week everyone x

Wednesday - HM fish and chips with peas.
Thursday - lunch at my grans so just a sandwich or beans on toast for tea.
Friday - take leftover chicken curry out of freezer and have it with some rice and perhaps some nann bread if i can find some cheap enough.
Saturday - cook chicken for sunday before removing thighs and making them into HM southern fried chicken with some HM wedges and corn on the cob which i have in the freezer.

Quite a cheap week as i'm mostly using leftovers.

Is this okay? This is really the first time I have written a meal plan. I have actually done 2 weeks as we are so tight. I did the tesco shop this morning and for 2 weeks it came to £50.46. Luckily we have a freezer full of meat and cupboards bursting at the seams. The plan is I should need to buy some fresh fruit and milk on saturday :D
