I didn't mean for all the time, that £12 was milk, potatoes (which I was growing myself), bread and other things, but they're OK for snacks if you get peckish as well, i've stopped them as much because I was dependant on them for comfort eating, but they're OK to have on stock, I also go for the pcket soups - i'm intolerant to fruit and veg, so my diets pretty thin, but you can do it, little changes can help loads - when Iceland did 3 tins of Heinz soup for £1 (usually 53p each), I got about £10 worth because it helps count towards fruit portions, can be filling, and was better to buy them on offer than randomly when I wanted some, going for things on deal help loads, like Superdrug doing thier toilet rolls cheap, I stocked up as it worked out more efficient.
Edit - A lot of noodles come with flavour, bt they often have carrot and celery or something in, and if I have them, i'll make myself very ill, so i use stockcubes instead.~*Cerenia*~

How much is it to get the bus down to Asda? It can't be much, and you'd probably save if you can do a couple of big shops from a wider variety rather than the tiny metro with it's mark-ups!DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kitten

I'm a believer in "you are what you eat". If you eat crap, you will become crap.
Have you looked into getting farm food delivered? I get £10 weekly veggie box, and £55 meat box which lasts approx 3 weeks - and that's for two.
You do have to learn to deal with food though. This week - kohl rabi...
I admit, it does get topped up with bacon and things like that, but it saves petrol and hassle, and is damn fine quality."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

£2 from centre of town which is a 5 min walk from my house. however I generally wait till my parents come to see me, so they can give me a lift, and hopefully pay for the shoppingHypoglycemic? Low GI foods (GI=glycemic index) are good for that. They give a long sustained blood-sugar drip.

Does that mean if I eat chocolate.... yippee, then I can eat myself!!!!!!
CAFGirl you need some radical thinking.......
What's the point of filling in a spending diary at the end of the day? Take it everywhere & fill it in BEFORE you buy. Then colour the purchase green (e.g. 8p noodles, fresh fruit (as long as not blueberries at 3.49!)), orange e.g bus if could have walked, chicken portions instead of whole chicken, or red.... you know what those ones are - the ones that make us all go     when you 'fess up. If you're brave enough to stand at the checkout, notebook and highlighters in hand, muttering to yourself about whether something is green or orange, you'll probably find the staff will call a fire drill & shut the shop so you won't be able to buy it anyway!!!!!!
Seriously, why not give it a go?????
And wasn't there a splurge on some books a few weeks ago cos you were going to learn a new skill? Isn't it about time we had an update on that......:rolleyes:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

still very true...........
However will endevour to eat contents of cupboard with minimal top-up this week.......... hopefully flatmate will buy bread and milk, if I leave it long enough..............
Have discovered that at work, we can buy milk to keep in the fridge via the petty cash, for tea breaks apparently, arent they nice! So I've taken my BOGOF box of cereal to work with a bowl, and I shall be eating cereal for lunch FOREVER and the company can pay

(one day I'll be as useful as ZTD:cool: )0 -
Thinking about it, I've always been drawn to looking like one of those odd people everyone else stares at.......muttering to yourself about whether something is green or orange,
So green is parted with the green to get it
and orange is............ wait a god damn minute!
I think I need to write this down.............
I'm gonna need a bigger handbag for all these pens...........And wasn't there a splurge on some books a few weeks ago cos you were going to learn a new skill? Isn't it about time we had an update on that......
Nothing gets past you people does it! The update is, I've copied out a rather nice picure, that I'm hoping to do onto some decent paper and frame as a present for my sister for xmas. Cost shouldnt be much, as Im going to "steal" some artists paper from the BF!
As I've been telling ZTD, I'm more of an in my minds eye creator, who lacks any ability to transfer into a physical sense.........
i.e I've got no artistic talent whatsoever......... but all the desire in the worldWealth is not measured by currency0 -
CAFCGirl wrote:OK enough beating myself up for one evening.
got to thinking (with many heartfelt thanks to ZTD) that I need to sort out whats making me unhappy.
Part of it is that as much as Im aware of my situation I'm not active enough in sorting it out, whenever I make a saving I seem to be spending it somewhere else ( as to why, thats a journey I'm yet to take!)
But I'm sure you will be taking it. If not, I'll be there to nag you...
