Friends are generally more valuable than money, although they are not acceptable at all retailers...

That's because many of them don't have the proper machines.

I can imagine news stories now.

"In a strange coincidence tonights National Lottery roll-over of over £10 million (or whatever it is) has remarkably been shared between 4 lucky winners who all belong to the same online community..... even more shockingly, a website devoted to saving money!"

  • 4 lucky winners? I count the 3 of us at the moment - who else knows??!

I like to share, but not that much :)

    Back to housemate:
The only problem is................ she hasn't called me, and she hasn't answered my call! This is what drives me nuts more than anything!

    a) this could be completely unrelated to you e.g. maybe she's had to go to hospital?
    b) she's carping herself about telling you
    c) something really random

    At least you're ready for b) ...

P.S. I've written down the numbers and will play them on Saturday - thanks Mystic CAFCGirl Meg

Number 4 would be Peaches, I couldnt let my girl go without, but ok I'll pay her off with my share

You're right there could be a hundred and one reasons why she hasn't called me back. I'm not a very patient person......... as you can tell.

But I guess at least I'm covered for whatever might be said, I've worked out I could easily live on my own, somewhere around £450 mark, if anythings included in that price even better, if not I've still got budgetted money for it.
And again that would still only be temporary as once my debts are paid off I'll probs look into either saving for a deposit for my own house, or move into somewhere else with the BF when he's finished uni........

which you'll all be glad to hear isn't just me hoping, it's what we're both aiming for and he's said he wants to do..... :) but thats not for a little while yet and a lot can happen in 15 months, but for now, we're happy.

    And back to me again,
today should be a quiet one, it snowed last night :) so I dont plan on leaving the house at all! Bit of cleaning, some laundry and letter writing to my previous store cards, as somehow one of them has ended up with £25 credit, so I want that credit back!GE Capital feel my wrath!

    AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE!!!!!

    She's just called!
Her mum has asked her to move back home. She's had a breakdown and just isn't too good.
So I've told her not to worry about me, and to do whatever is best for her, and I wont be mad at her if she does move back home. She's coming back on monday and we'll have another chat then.
She has said though if she does need to move back she's going to pay rent for March, and give me some bill money.

Again I still just need a very very definite from her as I obviously need to tell my landlord as soon as possible, I need to give him a months notice. So who knows by my birthday I could be living on my own!

Ah, well at least you know where you stand now and you can finalise a plan of action!

Good luck. :) I hinted to my boyf last night about moving in together (as he's looking for somewhere closer to work - which means closer to me!) and I think he's thinking about it now!! Fingers crossed, but I'm keeping quiet now I've planted the seed - I don't want to seem pushy! :j

    lol Catt,

From small acorns and all that!

As the BF has just said, I cant really rely on flatmate. Not in a horrible way but he just said its unlikely anything is gonna change when I see her on monday... So really I should know just concentrate on taking care of myself, which is what I plan to do....

    PHEW!
I dont really know how I feel, I was pretty much prepared for it but I still dont think it has sunk in.

So what do I need to do?
    1.Inform landlord
    2.Find new place to live
    3. Source loan for new deposit (pay back when old deposit is released) talk very nicely to parents.
    4.Money saved for fees
5.Write to all utility companies and ask for final bills
6.Write to council and inform them of change of address
7.Write to all credit/bank companies inform of change of address

What else have I forgotten people?!

  • Your powers are strong :)

And just think it must have been such a relief to your now ex housemate to hear your calm reaction.

Can't help you on the moving/renting front I'm afraid...

    I'm such a good friend me :)

I have spoken to my rather lovely Mum who has offered (well I actually asked) to lend me the new deposit and then I can pay her back whatever gets released from the old one.

Next pay day I will have more than enough to pay for agents fees which are somewhere around the £180 mark (shocking isnt it!)

I've got a viewing lined up for monday for a studio apartment at £425 a month, but includes council tax, water rates and communal central heating. So in all honesty that pretty much marries up wih what I pay at the moment. My only bills after that would be electric, phone/internet and sky, if I decide to keep it.......... I'm in two minds, I can afford it if this all comes off the right way, and it'll stop me spending on dvds and rentals to wile away the hours.....

And just to talk about something else...........:T

Valentines will soon be upon us.... now the BF has already asked what we'll be up to, without prompting, was quite impressed with him for that.
Now the issues are as follows
    Money:think:
    Money...........
    and erm............ well money:doh:

And the mere fact that neither of us really have any. Now he's a classical romantic at heart :happyhear and would like us to go out. Me however, I hate going out on Valentines and would rather wait till the end of the month when I've got a little extra (after payday) to treat us and not have to contend with every known restaurant bumping up the prices, and the old woman with the bucket of dead roses....:happylove

    "Pretty rose for the lady"
:wall: No pretty rose thank you very much, I'd rather have the cash:silenced:

    Anyway.........
So my thinking was a night in, but I think he's getting a bit bored of nights in round at my flat so I was trying to think of what we could do that would be a little different.
So I thought we could find something totally different to cook for each other, rather than relying on the same old thing we always cook i.e spag bol, curry or fajitas.

And then theres the entertainment (and I'm talking PG rated here people!)
We spend quite a bit of our time relaxing in front of the tv, or having a nice bath together.
 So I was thinking of getting him to bring his camera round (behave !!!!) and us just spending the evening taking black and white photos of bits of each other (again lets keep it clean!), I'm not a great facial photographee, and me and the BF dont really have any photos of each other apart from ones from a family wedding last summer.

So I thought this way we'd have something different to do, a gift for each other out of it, and it'd be something I'd be quite comfortable doing (like I said I dont like face photos!)......... and its relatively cheap (batteries and food aside).

Now does anyone think this is horrendously stupid or is there anything else I could maybe add to it?
I thought I'd ask in the comfort of my own thread where I kind of know the people who are going to reply and what tone it'd be said in.....:o

There are some quite freaky people out there:wave:
