I phoned the sky 0800 number yesterday & told them that I would like to cancel my sky world contract(£42.50) due to the fact that I needed to save some money & that there was no football on for a few months & that was basically all I had it for. I was eventually put thru to retentions & a nice man called Grant offered me the Sky world package at a reduced price of £31.50 for 12months, BARGAIN!!!! a saving of £132, I tried to get him to throw in Prem Plus but he wouldn't, never mind I was quite happy with what I'd got. Good luck if you have a go. I Also called NTL for my girlfriend and and reduced her Phone/broadband package from £43 to £22.74 by threatening to go to TalkTalk, even bigger BARGAIN!! an annual saving of £243

Jenjen30x you said in previous note that you had just had sky+ installed, so you have commited to another 12 months with them which means that you cannot cancel and so are therefore not eligable for the offers. The offers are there to stop you cancelling !
    Edit
Forgot to say. The cancellations dept works on a Friday to Thursday week. The sales operators only have a limited number of deals. If you call on Friday or Monday they are much more likely to be offered a deal, rather than Wed or Thurs when they have probably run out.

Don`t give up . If you don`t get offered a deal just say you`ll think about it for a few days and then `phone back . Hopefully when you do `phone again you`ll get a `nice` customers services operator !
I had to call them 4 times before I got offered a deal , they kept offering a reduced package initially but when I got through to Laura in Glasgow on the 4th attempt I was offered FULL sky package for £20 per month for 3 month . I was also told that if I called in 3 months to `cancel` I`d probably be offered same deal again.
So , as I say , don`t give up but simply try again in a day or so

My husband is on the phone to Sky at the moment. They are offering him the basic package for £21.00 a month plus another £10 because we have a Sky+ box. Might as well keep our complete package for £42.50 for that.

Edited to add - he has just come off the phone and we have got sky family mix and movies for £27 a month but we are tied in for another 12 months. Saving £185 a year. Thanks for motivating us to do something at last!
  • We phoned yesterday and were on the £15 2 mix package. We were offered all 6 mixes and movie package for £18 month for 3 months. The man said he could only do it for 3 months at a time and if we phone back in 3 months we would prob get another offer. Kids are really happy as we got disney channels (they are 15 and 17!!)
  • Hey,

After reading the GREAT 66p for 2 month deals, I feel like the recent half price sports package for 3 month deal that I got a couple of weeks ago (£18 per month) is ridiculously overpriced. However, having already agreed to this, is it worth me calling SKY back to see if I can get a better deal? I am slightly tentative since they might figure I am just trying to mess them about. Please let me know.
