I cannot believe the deal SKY has just offered me!!!!
I have been on the full package for 6 months now for half price. Phoning up at 3 month intervals to cancel.
I just called them to cancel and was hoping for an offer but was not overly fussed as I have just taken receipt of the Empire LCD Deal in another thread which included freeview in the TV.
Anyway I called and they offered me....The Sports package which includes everything apart from the movies (which I have had for the last 6 months and have watched 3 movies, so not fussed with that) for 66P a month for 2 months...WOW.
My hubby was laughing as I said to the lady on the phone I dont beleive you and then I said is their a catch. He said I was so suspicious even asking her to send a letter of confirmation out to me!!!!
Well I am one happy sky customer.

I rang Sky up last week.
I had 40% off for 2 months in Feb and March on the Sports Package, normally €54 pm.
I said I wished to cancel due to the Premiership being over.
I was offered the 66p deal ,which I accepted.
As my details were being formalised the woman apologised and said I wasnt eligible for the deal .
She deeply apologised but offered me half price for 3 months.
I'm in Ireland so perhaps that is why I couldnt get the 66p deal ,which is great value.
I wasnt too bothered as I'm still saving money.
Over the last 15 months I'll have had 3 * 3 Month Half prices deals and a 2 month deal at 40% off.
Thats a saving of €285 ,not too bad at all.
Sky + is the next target.0 -
I wouldnt mind upgrading to Sky+ but dont really want to be tied into another 12 months when I kinda want Sky HD sometime in the next year. I'm just waiting for this new Sky HD stuff to reduce in price as its pretty pricey, fingers crossed it'll come down in price after the world cup.0

do you actualy phone up and ask about 66p deal or wait till they offer it,is it every channel apart from movies0

I called them on Sat to cancel from the sports package at £33 per month to the £15 package and was offered no deal. Not really disappointed as OH is away on a 7 month course so sports channels would never have been on. As long as the kids programmes are there then that's fine by me.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

I think the way to get it at a reduced rate is to mention the magic words - I wish to cancel my subscription. Sky are desparate to keep you as a customer so offer you a great deal to stay (it's still cheaper than them trying to get a new customer). By asking to be downgraded you are sort of playing into their hands as they know they aren't going to lose you. Much better to go down the 'I wish to cancel' route. They won't just let you cancel without offering you a good deal to stay, believe me.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

No you will have to say you are cancelling. Even if you dont get offered a deal (which I am sure you will) as my brother has also done this and it worked! You can call a couple of days before the months notice is up and say you wish to stay connected so you have nothing to lose really!!!!pondie1 wrote:do you actualy phone up and ask about 66p deal or wait till they offer it,is it every channel apart from movies0
