Afternoon all
Another lovely day here, chilly though. I'm at work and have had a manic morning doing Basic Skills testing on my group, and have meetings this afternoon.
OS wise, I plan on doing a spot of batch cooking tonight. I am going to attempt my first curry, thanks to all who replied to my post yesterday about how to make it! I have fresh stuff to use up before I go away on a week long course next week. I'll freeze the curry though as I have other food to eat up! Dinner will be stirfry veg and tofu in black bean sauce with noodles. And I need to make up some salad or something for lunch.
Have a good day

Sorry to hear about your MIL N9eav
Thinking of Jayne and George
Mioliere Loving your blog
Just had bowl of veg soup that made yesterday for lunch very yummy
Pasta for tea with Chorizo chickpeas and spinach comes to mind will have to see what else is in fridge to add to it when I get home from work
OH brought loads back from allotment yesterday including some beetroot which will have to be cooked tonight Allotment has been really worth the outlay and time this year for the amount of produce we have had plus what I like everyone is so friendly and helpful.
DH is still very down as no job news yet going into 5 months on my salary only plus he gets small pension
Ironing later few more of DS's bits I keep finding since he moved out last saturday will have to give him a ring still finding that very hard.
well enjoy rest of day everyoneFrugal challenge 2025

Afternoon all,
Cold enough here to-day to put on extra jumper but not the heating...might persuade OH to light fire in living room, we have logs.
Been to Warfarin clinic this morning, much busier than usual for some reason, didn't visit shops at all, hope that we have enough until Saturday....will make it do whatever there is in fridge and freezer.
Think that mid-term here is w/c 26th which is a bank holiday, DD1, DDIL1 and DGD2 are coming for an overnight from Cork....main reason is an IKEA trip but we will see them too which is nice.
Need to bring in some clothes from line and put some out, there are only four people here, why is washing non-stop?? Avoid ironing like the plague, find that if I don't spin shirts on too high a spin they will dry without many creases and as OH wears sweaters most of the time who sees the creases!
Dinner to-night will be pasta bolognese, nothing exciting but something everybody likes so a satisfactory meal...might make some fresh bread to go with it in a while.
Have hoovered the stairs and landing, hope to get living room and computer room done to-day, trying to do something every day this week that is only done every couple of weeks in an effort to catch up...puppy is adding to chaos and DD4's move is not helping either.
Hugs to all in need or want, especially Jayne and George, N9eav and OH, congratulations to all who are celebrating.

Afternoon all, hope this finds everybody well and happy.
Just a very quick one as I am limiting my use of the lappy(and it keeps cutting out which drives me mad!)
Good news is that I know what the problem is(the charger/power cable is virtually severed and is only slightly better than "hanging by a thread")
have ordered a replacement(Why does everything break in October?) Bad news it that it will take 14-21 days:mad::mad::mad::mad:
I am going to try to read via my mobile phone and post a bit. We really have to have some access to net as the ("60p" part) for the desktop is still not in stock.
Am dying to have a cookbook discussion with thriftlady and the various cookbook fans. I am severely tempted and need saving from myself:o:p
Also can I please ask a quick question?
I am making spicy parsnip soup am I right in thinking you just use water rather than stock?
I just make it on auto pilot but am having brain freeze today:o
Hugs to all. Hope Pen-Pin, Smokey. BargainBird and everyone else having troubles, illness, worries or pressures.
Also congratulations to Bitsy Beans:T:T on your fab OFSTED.
Finally I very publicly want to say what an amazing lady Jayne is.
You are a terrific example of OS and I am proud to call you a friend.
Loads of love to both you and George.
Hope today goes as well as it can.
This is a fantastic board and I miss it so when I am not here.
Talk soon.
Look after yourselves.

Afternoon all
N9eav sorry to hear about your MIL.
I'm feeling very tired and fragile today after yesterday's foray to Tesco. They'd had a freezer cabinet break down, so there was no frozen vegetarian food to be had whatsoever. Good thing I keep the freezer well-stocked, so we can last out til I can get there again or (more likely) go to Morrisons. It has to be on a day when Mr LW is w*rking from home, as I can't go on my own, so the next "window of opportunity" will be Monday 26th October. Mr LW can get some bits in Letchworth Morrisons for me, but not frozens, as there's nowhere for him to put them at w*rk to stay frozen.
I was going to do some sewing today, but I really don't feel like it, so it's best to leave it, as I'll not do a good job if I do it when I'm this unenthusiastic. (iyswim).
I have, however, done a couple of online surveys today, also received some stuff through the post that I have to test, so a bit nearer my next Amazon voucher.:o
2nd half of the Shepherd Spy for dins, as Mr LW will be late home today; then probably a quiet night bashing trolls.:D
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Will someone please help me get my life back on track (or at the very least invent an 8 day week :rotfl:). I feel like I'm spinning plates all the time - you know not in control of ANYTHINGI work 30 hours a week, go to college 1 day a week (course workload has doubled this year ) DD is doing lots of different activities; football, hockey, guides, swimming - that all require different kits being ready on different days; DH is a shirt and tie guy - lots of shirts to iron . I just don't feel on top of anything - looks around for head just about bobbing above the water smilie
Ok - rant over - maybe I just needed to get it off my chest
Tea tonight will be jacket potatoes (Guides tonight), WM and TD both on, load of washing soaking in the sink - need to get PE kit sorted, must do at least 2 hours of homework tonight, and need to make a victoria sponge.
Have lovely evenings everyone xxxxxSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0
