    Ooooo how did you do?

No no conference for me but prehaps next year, sounds like fun!

I didn't get anything from the sale, was a bit slow.

Do you do much in schools or just toddler groups?

The Gala & Conference was amazing!!! I won Top Group Leader for 2015 :) Really chuffed! Definitely worth making the effort to come next year if you can. It's very inspiring and lovely to meet lots of likeminded people.

I do different events all throughout the year - school book fairs, sponsored reads at schools, craft fairs, toddler groups, parties, fetes and fairs.

There is still stuff available in the sale, and there is likely to be more added on each Monday this Monday.

Woooo Looney that is fantastic! Wish you were my mentor....oh well!

I did a Facebook party for the sale on the 4th but most stuff was gone that looked of any interest to me.

I am hoping to arrange a sponsored read for a school I did a fair for at Christmas so just need to email them the details.

Just a quick question (as I know you are not my mentor!) but any tips on getting stall fees back? I need to be a bit more salesy I think to try a win the book competition to cover my stall costs as it's eating into profits.

  • Aww thanks :)

Good luck with your Ready Steady Read!

You could try doing a competition on your stall - Lucky Squares or Find the Duck. Or some of my girls do a Lucky Dip and wrap up special offer books - this works quite nicely.

Hi Looney, just thought I would say Hi and hope you are doing well.

From this week I am back on the events and cannot wait! Also joining a mums networking group so hopefully that will get me some work.

I managed to secure a sponsored read too and potientially have another interested so all good on that front.

Just another quick question when you recruit do you find you have more success face to face then online? I have had 4 people ask me for information then go quiet in the last week, I know they might be thinking about it but I get all excited about it then annoyed when they go quiet! :rotfl:

All good here thanks. January was a great month for recruiting. We had lots join our group.

Great news on your Ready Steady Read!

Keep trying in any way that you can with your recruiting. I recruit both online and face to face. Keep in touch with all your leads regularly, as it might not quite be the right time to join just now for them.

    Good luck!
  • Hello all,

There doesn't seem to be many left on here! I joined Usborne just under 3 weeks ago. I have really enjoyed what I have done so far, I have held 1 party at my house with my friends, only 5 came, but I sold £337 worth of books! I have contacted lots of groups and have 6 bookings in the diary for fetes/fayre's. I have setup a Facebook and Twitter account and have my templated website and have achieved a kit boost.

My mentor is coming over tomorrow, so we can meet face to face, so I am looking forward to that, then I am going to hers next week to meet other members of her team.

I haven't achieved getting any other party dates, or been able to recruit anyone. Any tips?

    Nicola

You sound like you're getting on great Nicola! Well done on your Kit Boost :)

Plenty of time to start recruiting ;) Get yourself out to toddler groups if you can, as they're great places to recruit and get parties booked in. Make sure you get everyone filling in a Prize Draw slip at all your events, as it's a great way of filling your talent pool :)

Good luck in getting your Kit Refund!
  • Thank you looneylee, I have an event this Saturday and one on 30th, so hope those will get me to my Kit Refund. Yes, I have been pushing the prize draw slips, they are a really good idea.

Got some good ideas off of this thread too. I have a 3 month old baby, so I should start getting myself out to groups!

How is everyone else getting on?
