So.... What happens when u receive ur starter pack....do u just turn up to the fairs (obviously having booked tables etc) with the books in your kit?? If u feel u want more to offer, do u buy these yourself??0
-
Have you already signed up Tigerfeet?
Yes basically you would take your kit along and display as you wish on the table. Some of us use 7 tier display stands which are great for getting the books up off of the table. You can get these brand new from Saunders Displays (we have a special deal with them) or you can quite often find them on ebay quite a bit cheaper. There are lots of freebies along the way, so you'll find your kit will grow quite quickly. There is a Runaway Success Incentive to help you get going quickly, which also helps boost your kit! You can then take orders from both your selection of books and the catalogue/leaflets. In time, as your kit grows, you'll find you can also sell from the stock that you have.
Hope that helps!0 -

Hiya!
Have you done your first 6 x £100 orders yet? Once you've done these, you'll get access to the schools free book allowances and discounts.
There are lots of ways of getting into schools. First thing is do you know anyone that works at a school or anyone on a school's PTA? This is probably the easiest way in. Meeting teachers at events is always a good way in too. Use your Prize Draw SlipsHave a chat with your mentor about wanting to approach them, I'm sure they will give you lots of tips.

Hi guys,
apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but i've been reading through all the answers and i've found it all very insightful.
I am a student looking for the freedom of my own business, but with the support network these kind of businesses provide.
My only question is, i don't have any children, and i am worried i will struggle to sell these books. Where would you guys as places to sell them?
:j0 -
Hello - there are lots of different places that you can sell our books. It doesn't particularly matter that you don't have any children. We have organisers of all different ages who work part time, full time etc and fit this around their other commitments. You could sell books to friends/family, at fetes and fairs, children's groups, nurseries, schools, parties, gyms, workplaces etc etc.
Hope that gives you a few ideas0 -
Hi,
I'm thinking of joining Usborne, but having recently moved to a new area I'm worried that I would struggle to do parties (I don't know anyone). How do you go about arranging to visit toddler groups? Could I take individual orders from friends/family?

Hello!
This would be a great way of getting out and about and meeting new people/making new friends etcToddler groups are easy to contact - you can find all your local groups on netmums, and then either drop in to them to ask if you can come along with your books, or you could try calling/emailing them. Sometimes the contact details can be out of date, so I'd definitely recommend dropping in (with your little one if you have one?) Yes you can collate orders from friends/family.
From going out and about to toddler groups etc, hopefully you'd be able to pick up a few parties too.
Hope that helps you make your decision.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I'm going to spend the week calling around toddler groups and seeing what sort of interest there is. I'm really interested and pretty sure that I could sell the books... Just need to make sure that there are people here to sell to!0
